Yes, at the price of R3199 it is quite a value for money product and even cheaper from Takealot and Mia Africa than from China.
I have received mine within 24 hours a few days ago from Takealot.

Figured you opted for Redmi is to stick to a budget but yes Note 8 all the way.
Incredible still has the Note 7, bit only worth it if you can score the sale price of R2.5k

For my personal experience, much better than stock - unfortunately though - the camera has a major issue with yellow tint.

ah that's unfortunate, seems 3rd party apps that use their own cameras make use of the secondary shutter which might not produce the tint but are lower quality, and no software seems responsible if you use the main so switching it out doesn't seem to work too.
These small quirks of the modern Android custom scene is what pushes me on the edge to be impatient with the release of more open mobile devices from Pine and Purism, but there's not much we can do for now until then and Xiaomi is one of the last best things we've got that doesn't have to deal with importing other devices with exuberant prices.

Give it time, these roms improve as time goes by.
Initially I couldn't use the fingerprint sensor on my Mi9T at all. Now it works during the day, but as soon as night mode (red'ish screen) kicks in, it mostly fails again.

Yeh - not too worried - my wife takes most the photo's anyway.
I've tried a few apps - you can definetely see its using the wrong camera - oddly, in apps like Whatsapp - if you take a photo directly from the app, it seems to use the right camera. I'm sure it'll be resolved in the next month or two.
Everyone wants the Note 8, had it in my Takealot cart, helped kids quickly and when i wanted to check out it was sold.
On mia site I selected the Blue Note 8 and as I wanted to pay I got a pop up to say its out of stock now.
I eventually got the black one.

I have previously got a Note 6 Pro from them. No problem with couriers and was delivered within 2 days.
Can unfortunately not remember which courier was used.

Most likely yes but what are the chances that on two diff sites my order went out of stock as I was making purchase... My luck I guess but at least I did get one.
