The Official Xiaomi Thread

Always, as far as I've noticed.

It's like it goes into a very very deep sleep. Sometimes when I unlock, I'll already be on the home screen when the phone finally plays the unlock sound. Never behaved like this before the update.

I'm not seeing any lag on my F3.

Is this the same update?

Keep in mind there are two flavours of MIUI 14 - newer phones will get it running on Android 13 whereas my two-year-old phone is running MIUI 14 on Android 12.

Yup. Note 9 Pro is doing this.

Is there actually any difference besides core Android changes?

What confuses me about Xiaomi is that their software build numbers seem to go in descending order.

When I got my phone it was on 13.0.16 now its updated to 13.0.8

What gives?

Havent read too much here. Has anyone elses battery life dropped quite significantly since updating to MIUI 14?

Did it update OTA, or was there perhaps a weekly version installed?

My Poco F3 actually got better, now that you mention it. Probably to do with the deep sleep it seems to be going into and causing unlocks/wake ups to feel very laggy. Win/Lose I suppose....

Hi All,

Trying to give my Note 7 a bit of extra life... Has anyone used a custom rom?

I see Arrow is not supported anymore and looks like Linage os also not receiving updates (for lavender at least so would need to go for unofficial)...

Evolution X or Pixel Experience (sounds like might have camera issues?)

Any advice (except to finally upgrade :-) would be of great help!

I use custom roms at the end of software life for all my phones.
I would use pixel experience for a first timer, but take note not refering to the camera issue you are alluding to, but pretty much all custom roms are going to come with the standard useless android camera app.
you would need to find a Gcam version that works in order to get good quality pics again.

Backup EVERYTHING.
And request the bootloader unlocking now, even if you decide not to go ahead with it. There is a waiting period, or at least there was, not sure if it's still the same.
Once you unlock the bootloader it will format the device, so at that point you must have backups.

Thank you kindly for your advice! Will start googling ;-)

What does this say for your model and variant?

Model is 2107113SG and not sure what the variant is?
According to the site for my particular model that latest MIUI14 is available and was released earlier in the year, just strange that I am not getting the prompt to update on the internal updater? I really dont wanna mess with doing that myself manually.

and I would assume the one I would want to use if I was going to is the "Global" version ?

Only if your handset is the Global model.

Check on your "about phone" page. Double check with the MIUI version code.
