If your SNR margins fluctuate that much, then make sure that you have POTS filter(s) correctly installed, so that the telephone, fax & alarm is filtered. The ADSL modem itself should go unfiltered or connected to a splitter filter's ADSL port.
Secondly, make sure that you don't have other electrical appliances near the telephone cable that could cause noise - like CFFL lights.
Did you perhaps pick up a pattern when your ADSL disconnects? Like does it happen like clock work every night and only once? Or does it happen when you make/receive phone calls or when your alarm system dials out?
Or are the disconnects completely random?
