The Old Games Thread

Kids. Old games are Colossal Cave (Adventure), Zork, and so on.

You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building.
Around you is a forest. A small stream flows out of the building and
down a gully.

> in

You are inside a building, a well house for a large spring.

There are some keys on the ground here.

There is a shiny brass lamp nearby.

There is food here.

There is a bottle of water here.

;):):D

Syndicate Wars was an awesome game! I've still got my original box and cd...
Hehe, SyndWars and Dungeon Keeper 1 were the first 2 games I ever legally bought, back when I was like std.6/7... good times...

Sigh...
/me sheds a tear for Bullfrog Productions... Damn you EA!

An old game I've always wanted to try out was Star Wars: Rebellion

Star Craft is still one of the most popular games online I think they soild a bout 5 million+ copies since it's release :D

It was the first game I played online with my 38kbs Dail up modem :D Godzilla servers FTW!

Oh the memories lol. A little more recent, but 9 years ago, I went to high school, and discovered Quake 1, with the Killer Quake Pack, and Future versus Fantasy pack. One guy used to lord it over us by using the darn blood drainer weapon on us any chance he got.

I also really enjoyed Gabriel Knight 2. Thing came on 6 cd's  Most of it was motion videos

Long before any of this was some really screwed up DOS games that came with some custom written DOS interface or something that came on the 386 my dad bought. Monopoly, and some word games. I played them only because I had nothing else to play. And the graphics bonked out quite often. Was a weird sight

I cant believe how much tv game cartriges used to cost, and we all bought it didnt we? :P

I don't feel so excited about C64 type games, as the start of pc gaming. I do remember playing police quest 1 and wolf at friends. Those dos games made me so nausious that I never bothered with them at my house..

Some more classics:
Tie Fighter
Wing Commander
Bubble Bobble (had it on PC, screw wasting my 20c coins on Arcade games)

Why did pc's have turbo buttons... Really lame, like people would want a pc to run slower than possible :/

Anyways best old school game of all time:

3D PC:
Battlezone
Grim Fandango
Half Life
---
Sega Mega Drive:
Tiny Toons
Lion King
Sonic
---
2D PC:
Stunts
Micro Machines
Leisure Suite Larry

Or...

On the 'ol ZX-Spectrum: Wheelie, Manic Miner, Maniacs, Renegade, Commando, Hungry Horace, Space Invaders... The list goes on. I don't miss those "RR Tape Loading Error" messages.
