@ponder that Mobo is out of stock and they don't expect stock soon, so I think it best I pick another one because the stock coming in a few weeks time will probably be much more expensive.
How about this one, it's skylake and not Kaby, but that's not a issue for me since that i7 CPU is also skylake, still does DDR4 and has 4 RAM slots, has a M.2 slot very important for the SSD I already own, it doesn't have USB-C like that previous one, but that's no biggy.

Should I go for it or is there something better in the same price range? It must have a M.2 SSD slot and 4 RAM slots.

Hang on, just had a closer look.

The MB:
1 x M.2 Socket 3 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 SATA & PCIe x4/x2/x1 SSD support)

The SSD:
M.2 22110:80 mm x 22 mm x 3.65 mm @ 10g Max, B+M key

The SSD is longer than the MB supports

Look for a MB that supports 22110

Good thing you questioned that

Looks like this one supports 22110 and we are back on Kabylake.

Ask them when they expect stock and add it to your basket & pay. Next one up is almost R400 more.

Order placed, they expecting stock Monday but I am getting it at this price. I'm also getting faster RAM for R30 cheaper, the 2400 is out of stock so they upgraded me to 2666.

The price you see on their site is the price you pay. Looks like you are all sorted then, enjoy the new PC!

@ponder I've got another question, in another build thred you said something about a little standoff and screw needed to mount a M.2 SSD, where do I get this standoff and screw? My SSD didn't come with anything and as far as I know the motherboard also doesn't come with something like that.

If it's the same standoff as your case uses for the motherboard, it would be in the case accessories.

I don't have an m.2 ssd though so might be different.

MBs differ, some have a loose standoff you screw into the correct space, others have standoffs in all the holes, Either way the MB will come with whatever is required to use the m.2 slot.
If you look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Mxc7CAbhw you will see the furthest hole from the slot has what you need preinstalled.

The motherboard will come with M.2 standoff and screw as standard. Check your packaging

Fastway couriers just pitched up at my gate with a huge box from Wootware. Getting the Leatherman to cut open all packaging and then to assemble this bad boy.

I'm out the loop these days..

It will be a gaming machine. From posts above it appears Intel still rules that, but not by much. What'd an equivalent build in Intel look like?

Any dealers in Cape Town- feel free to PM me if you can do better :)
