Where'd you get the desk mat from? Looks cool
Takealot

I've got 2 of them, as last year they were R140 which I thought was cheap.

Oh wow just looked at the pricing on Carbonite. The 1660Ti I got in my sons PC, I could sell for more then I paid for it 2 years ago. The RX580 I had last year would be 3 times the price I paid for it in 2019. Wow oh wow.

Pricing is so ridiculous right now.. I have a MASSIVE itch to build a new system and it is growing by the day.. I just can't force myself to pay the current prices things are going for, not too mention having to watch carb, wootware etc like a hawk for if and when stock might be available..

I am at this point just going to sit and suffer through this itch until this time next year..

I'm glad I did my itch 2 years ago and last year :-).

Just get a cheap 3060.
It might not be near the 3070 but it is still a great card. I haven't found a competitive game that I can't play at 1440p at 144hz with settings scaled back a bit (which you do anyway for competitive games). If you turn the eye candy on its a decent 60fps which is nice for games like cyberpunk.

Other than there not being any of those around, I want this upgrade to be one that's going to be good for a long time, so want to go 3070 at least..

They are often available at <R11k.
3070's are close to double that and are hardly ever in stock.
If your option is no pc gaming or wait a year (or more), the 3060 is a decent choice.

I've already got a 2060 super the jump to 3060 isn't great, the jump to 3070 is decent. But yeah price, that's why I got a Series X instead

ok yeah if you have a 2060s it is not worth it.
If you have a 1060 or something I would just go with a 3060 now.

Yup I mean the jump from my 1660ti to 2060 super didn't feel that great, just gave me a chance to replace the Rx580 in my son's PC.
