What do you guys think of this rig?:
Thanks
Very good. If I where you, I would get a better PSU (and I don't mean more wattage) that has 80+ certification at least. Get an H87 motherboard instead. And definitely not an OEM HDD... I know budget constraints push you to certain components, but spending R500 extra will get you much better components for the longer run.

It's really not that difficult to install a GPU water block and or heat sink, I have never had a problem when installing a new heat sink on a GPU worked perfect every time.:D

Do you have a water cooled GPU installed? If yes, Where did you source your Parts? and what is a rough estimate on the total cost?

Having ISSUES getting an MSI r9 280x... anyone got any recommendations on where to find one or a good alternative? Must not be too loud and hot [hence not getting the gigabyte model].

There is no stock available across the country. That's one very rare GPU. I know that Gigabyte stock arrived, but you're not looking for Gigabyte.

Hi brenjacct,

My HD7950 use to be water cooled I used a EK AMD HD7970/7950 Full Card Nickel and Actetal Liquid Cooling VGA Block from Landmark PC, I must be honest they are not very cheap with their products because they know they are basically the only shop in S.A that sells full GPU water blocks.

You can look around in their store for any water cooling equipment you will ever need.

Another choice you have is a XSPC universal GPU waterblock from XSPC and you can buy it from Titan-ice, the only thing I have against this waterblock is the stupid little heatsinks you have to stick on your VRAM etc.

Though the XSPC universal GPU waterblock is much cheaper than a full GPU block I would not recommend it for any High end cards.

Currently I am running stock cooling on my new cards since I upgraded from my HD7950 to 2 x Gigabyte gtx 770's SLI. But I am going to watercool them as soon as Landmark PC gets full GPU blocks for the 770's

Managed to get an MSI R9 280X - woot! Free BF4 edition too... :D

Question about cooling - I idle around 35-40C and under 100% hit about 70C. Is this OK for an i7?
I am using the stock cooler, but perhaps this is to do with the thermal paste. It came in a circular shape on the heatsink and I'm not sure if it spread nicely. Had to take the heatsink off once of twice to reposition it as it was tough to get it in evenly. Is this just because I am using the stock one? Should I buy another?

Can someone reccommend me a pc just the box without psu or R8K -R9K. 1080p gaming and can be nvidia or amd doesn't matter. Will be playing more BF4. BTW This is for a friend

So you want a 8k case? How will you play games on it?
