Saving for the wedding. Something every first-marriage person does and something very few second-marriage people do.

Save for a honeymoon rather.
100% this. Thankfully my wife also agreed with this principle (hence her becoming my wife)

I don’t understand spending tons of money on essentially a party. That could be much better used as e.g. a deposit on a house

We did that, after a bit I was like frak that I'm using the money to buy a place. Now wife was like no oh no... But we got married at home affairs, had a small do with family after, had friends the previous night. Went on a nice holiday when Mpumalanga was still decent, I am not a fan of beaches and crowds, neither is she. So we'd go hiking around Mpumalanga seeing nature and not seeing many people.

Her Dad will be paying for the majority, I just want to supplement what he contributes with my own money to make sure we have the reception we want (I don't do buffets). And it won't be an open bar, I am not a sucker.

And yes, the honeymoon will be something special.

Does anybody know the specifics of Evetech's "shipping insurance"? Their website simply tells us to do it for 'peace of mind' but like what are the terms, what is covered, etc. Shouldn't events like item loss/damage during delivery be their problem, not the customer's problem?

I know the whole controversy around them but sometimes their prices are well worth the risk of putting up with their bull.

It's a free 1% to them. Nice little something extra if your customers are dom enough to pay it.

Anyone using headset plugged into XBOX controller on PC?
I can hear fine but mic not picking up. Shows up as input device in settings, Windows 11. But NADA

OR: Do I have to use the 2 inputs on the tower (audio/mic) to get mic working. Does work but sound pickup and sound in party is terrible.
