Remove RAM 8GB = R906 & take the GPU out = R812 + 906 = R1718 for a graphic card

CPU: Intel Core I5 4440 (LGA 1150)= R2,281.00
Motherboard MSI H81M-P33 (LGA1150)= R 662.00
HDD 1TB Western Digital= R 733.00
Ram 1 x Corsair 8GB DDR3 -1600= R906.00
GPU Radeon R7 260x = R 1,599.00
PSU Gigabyte Green Max 550w = R 557.00
Case = R 400.00
Total = R7,137.00

Is there any other motherboard that you would recommed for R-/+ 250 more?
Replace your PSU with a better quality one: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30&products_id=1762

You could go for this motherboard: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19&products_id=11297

The rest of the setup is perfect. You could go for a 2TB if you like your series and movies.

So I recently got a PC

ThermalTake Chaser A31
MSI Z87-G43
Intel 4770
MSI 760 TF
Single stick 8gb HyperX Blu
Seagate 1TB
LG 24x DVD-RW
WIndows 8.1 64bit

I regret getting a Card with only 2gb VRAM and that I got the 4770 instead of the 4770k.
But the point of this is, I payed R14,800.00, I cant help but feel I was over charged for this build. What do people think, was I ripped off or does what I paid look about fair?
Thanks
Price is fair. The CPU is overkill if you're concerned about gaming, you should've gone for an i5 4600k and a better GPU. Although the GPU you have is still good, you could have gotten a R9 280X or GTX770. Don't be too worried about the VRAM, that's enough to play most games on high, unless you have a 1440p screen. If you want to play the latest games on ULTRA, then you'll have the get a better GPU, as simple as that.

Oh, and one more 8GB RAM stick to dual channel. 2x4GB would've been better though.

Watch Dogs is the most unoptimized piece of shit that has ever graced the PC world, aside from maybe GTA IV.

There's nothing wrong with a GTX 760, it's a great card.

So I spray painted one of my case fans, but I hate attention whoring. I'm not gonna make a whole thread about it, but here are the pics.

Was my first time doing it and I made some mistakes.

It was an old fan, it was so dirty, I've never seen dust so caked onto it. I don't have a true before picture (when I pulled it out of a side panel that sat in a woodworks garage for 3 years).

It was practically grey/brown. There are stains on this fan that will never come out. I ran through the entire side panel with a air hose. I'm still sneezing up dust.

That's pretty much an enthusiast level gaming PC, you can't really do much better than that, personally I'd prefer a single GPU, because of how few games properly support multi-GPU setups, however Crossfire can be made to work to a great extent if you don't mind a little DIY here and there. That being said, don't take this as naysaying, crossfire is far better than it was 3-4 years ago.

Crossfire 280x will be significantly better than a 290x in performance though and your PSU will laugh at the power consumption.
However note that your secondary PCI-E 16x slot with that mobo is 2.0 and will run in 4x during crossfire - it won't make that much of a difference, but if you want to spend R2k on a mobo you might as well get one with 2x PCI-E 16x 3.0 slots.

An argument could be made for how 2400mhz RAM performs the same as 1333mhz RAM is gaming specifically, but you obviously have the money to blow, so it doesn't matter.

A thing to note is that your Case does not seem to come with any front intake pre-installed and you definitely want a front intake for airflow.

Watercooling not necessary unless you're going to fiddle with your i5's voltages to OC to number of like 4.2ghz+, but what the hell, a watercooler can be a good investment anyway and it looks good.

Ok just a quick question, I'm looking at replacing my PC for Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier and After Effects. Dual 8 core Xeon with GTX 780, single 8 core plus Quadro or faster (clockspeed) single 6 core plus high end Quadro? Google sucks for this.

Edit - there will be much more PS and Lightroom work than anything else, but there will be a reasonable amount of Premier, After Effects and 3ds Max going on as well.

I really thought there would be some guys here with experience in this particular field?

Well, all that I know is that an i7 will handle your requirements properly (threading).

I do not use premier or After Effects but i do a lot of photoshop work and a lot or work in lightroom as well as indesign and illustrator. I just recently upgraded and I use a I5 4440 with 8 gigs ram and a powercolor R9 270 OC and it all runs very smoothly... Very happy with my upgrade.

Go R9 290X (reason why is given above by previous comment)

I have the Antec P280 case and I won't suggest it for your setup. Rather spend good money and get the perfect case you'll never have to change again.
Either of these 2: http://www.wootware.co.za/coolermas...indowed-side-panel-desktop-chassis-white.html

I suppose to give some context I should list my current specs.

2x Xeon E5645 @ 3.6 GHz
EVGA Classified SR-2
64GB RAM
GeForce GTX 780 Ti (I plan to keep this unless it makes sense to go for a Quadro, I don't really game much)

+100 man points to you! Good job, looks good!
Thank you man I appreciate it :D
The extra paint makes the fans I bit heavier I assume. But good job though.

It does, my fear was increased weight adding vibration noise, but I've tested it and it seems fine, it's still in trial and error phase though.

I actually may not even end up being able to visibly see it in my case, cause I bought too many LED fans lmao.

I'm going to hold off for three weeks and see if the rumours of 10, 12, 14 and 18 core unlocked Xeons are true. If it is... My PC is about to look like absolute junk :D

My fear is that they're going to be $5000 or more, at $3000 I could live with it but I'll probably end up having to look at 12/14 core CPUs.

This is what i settled for. cost me R15 000. Is that an ok price?
