Recommended wireless gaming mouse? Budget under 1k.
This is not really a good idea. I didn't listen either, now I'm sitting with a Logitech G700 that I want to throw against the wall more and more as time goes on.

I'm more of a part time gamer, also use my PC for work. Currently using a laptop mpuse and the size is annoying me... Gonna give the Logitech G602 a try.

I have the g602. It's not for everyone though. If you are used to a claw grip it will take time to get used to it.
Personally I quite like it but it's not for everyone.

PS. Only Use one battery in it at a time. Makes it much lighter.

Lightning damage

Hi all

PC hit by lightning yesterday, seems to be only the motherboard that got fried - sent it in to get a damage report. Currently got an i7 (one of the very first i7's, think the socket is 1366), 16GB cheap value ram, some cheap R700 motherboard and an ASUS R9 270x. Do you guys reckon it's worth just replacing the motherboard with another cheap one or actually dropping some money and buying a decent setup? I got some R20k that I can burn for this purpose.

You're going to have to go used if you want to replace the motherboard...if you're getting insurance money, I would buy new. Maybe use some of the leftover cash to build a second PC using your i7 etc but it's not that efficient power-wise for HTPC or NAS purposes. Maybe gift the working bits to someone or sell them on.

Does anyone know when the AMD Skybridge CPU is getting released?
And the Mini ITX boards that go with it?

Just buy a new motherboard/CPU

Those boards extremely rare anyways and the performance lackluster compared to the new 4th and upcoming 5th gen.

Put everything together and see if everything else still works especially the graphics card. It's been holding back your R9 270x anyways.

If you have R20k to burn, that would be your first stop anyways.
If you want to take it a step further, you could just sell the graphics cards (if it still works).

and put in a GTX970 on a sli atx motherboard.

With a R20k setup, the only path to go would be GTX970 sli anyways but you don't have to do it on day one.

What do you guys think of this for R1984,74?

Anything better than this in its price range?

This has probably been the 4th time I ask a question in this thread and I receive no replies...

Many apologies, I did not see this thread.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

You picked a non-k series Intel chip so I assume overclocking is not planned? If true, then you're overspending on the motherboard. I would look for H97 series boards which would be cheaper and put the saving towards an SSD (OS+apps) and a traditional drive for storage. Power supply is also overkill if you not going to run a dedicated graphics card...you can step down to a 500w or even 450w but keep in mind I don't know if you plan to add more peripherals to this box.

Just watch some build & tip videos from LinusTechTips or Tek Syndicate and build your PC from there, no?

Man oh Man it's really hard to find a case similar to this.

I want it to lay flat instead of like a tower and I need it to be at most 40 CM wide :(
It's for an ITX mobo.

Anyone know where I can get something that looks like this but not as wide?

(W) 160mm
(H) 491mm (Since it will be laying flat, l need this to be 40cm wide)
(D) 286mm

There are several that are shorter, but they are not Lian-Li cases. Not all of them will use risers to support discrete graphics either.

CFI 6719 ITX (315mm) @ R516
Cooler Master Mini 110 ITX @ R905

I'd try find an Alienware X51 that needs a good home, those are not that wide. Or DIY.
Thanks, I like something that looks extremely simple. The Coolermaster looks like crap and I hate the random white strip on the other.

I guess I'm going to have to build the mini itx board inside a spare Lian Li PC C60 case.
