Best to wait a bit with Ryzen chips...little birdie chirped that newer optimized Ryzen 7 cpu's will be available in the not too distant future...

A little birdie as in forum rumours? I heard that birdie too.

I also think that makes perfect sense though as this chip is very early silicon, which really bodes well for the future of Ryzen as it's already excellent in it's current state.

Does this little birdie have connections with AMD?

Thanks for the replies, will wait til May to see what the RX 5xx benchmarks are like.

Are there any recommendations on boards yet (that compliments the overall R15k budget)?

From Intel perspective, I can build a decent PC based on my knowledge, but I'll be damned for being able to do the same with AMD.

Soon as Wootware gets stock of R5, we'll post a build for you. Just a month away.

Wait for the benchmarks.

The way things are looking now I would say an i7-6700 for R2.8k might just end up being a better deal if your interest is purely gaming, paired with a cheapo MB & 8-16GB RAM you should be sorted for a long time.

You hear about sorting out win10 scheduling with ryzen but amd themselves have already said there is no issue with the win scheduler so I can't see how there is gonna be a performance gain in that department.

Microsoft says otherwise:

Tbh MS aren't admitting there is an issue with this tweet, just that they would look into the reports.

Though I have seen some rumours floating around that there is indeed a Windows patch in the pipeline that optimizes scheduling for Ryzen: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/60g5cj/windows_10_update_on_16_mar_have_partially_solved/

Sheesh, the fans that came bundled with my H110i are pretty terrible. They're loud and one of them makes strange sounds at lower RPM. Looks like I'll be ordering some Noctua fans off Amazon soon.

^, if you're looking for something that sounds like a 747 powering up, I can send you some Corsair 12cm fans I have lying around.

Couple of times people have asked me to turn my fan off when I've been playing with the mic on...they meant like floorstanding fan, I assume.

Read up on Gentle Typhoon AP and EKWB Vardar fans, you mind find them better than the noctuas.

So finally I have my money up together,

I did post here previously but I thought I'd check with the experts one more time about my set up!

A case
MSI Intel Z170A Gaming M3 Motherboard
250GB SSD
500HD

I'm buying -

GIGABYTE NVIDIA GTX 1060 G1 GAMING 6144MB GRAPHICS

INTEL CORE I5 7600K 3.80GHZ 6MB CACHE SKT

CM MASTERAIR MAKER 8

CORSAIR CXM550 SERIES; 550W ATX PSU; 80+ BRONZE

CORSAIR 16GB DDR4; 2400MHZ; VENGEANCE LPX; DUAL

I've swapped out some of my previous options for better known brands etc.
Any comments and recommendations welcome, I'd like to not spend too much more on this though!

Nice build. Just remember that you'll need to upgrade the BIOS on that mobo to run the Kabylake CPU on it. And as Ponder pointed out in a a different thread, you'll need a Skylake CPU first to be able to do that. To avoid the headache: get a 6600K and stick with the Z170 mobo, or get a Z270 mobo if you're going to go 7600K.
