The KG909 isn't a bad keyboard, the only annoying thing is the lighting is limited to this rainbow effect, the keys do have a tiny sound at the end of the press, but otherwise they aren't bad for their price.

Ah that's a slightly better set than I got for my son and wifes PC, though I must admit the Redragons aren't bad. I've been using Phoenix M702 for like ages and I'm wanting to replace it with the slightly newer faster second version.

Quite like the Microsoft 600 keyboards as well, just trying to figure out how to fabricate a wrist support for my Logitech G110 keyboard, find the keys are a little on the high side otherwise.

what about?

Will keep in mind, thanks. Will see if there is anything else, that I want from them, try and get a free, delivery.

Hi Guys

Let's play...

I am not in the biggest rush to buy, did quite a lot of research on components for similar builds but outside help always the best. It will be one of Evetech's builds with some changes. I think it will be a nice rig. Intended use probably only some FPS. (Not entirely the point though just want a nice solid gaming rig that would last some time.)

Case: Really don't know, guess one of the top Evetech cases should be OK. Comments?
PSU: Antec HCG-750 80+ Gold Gaming (R1900) or Corsair HX750i 80+ Platinum (R3300) or Corsair HX850i 80+ Platinum (R3900)
CPU: i7-9700k (R7700)
Cooler: Gamdias M2-240R (R1900) or Corsair iCUE H115i Pro RGB XT Extreme 280mm (R2500)
MoBo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F gaming (R6100)
Memory: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengence 3200 (R1900)
GPU: Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Super (R17000)
SSD: 1TB HikVision M.2 PCI-e (R3000)

Questions...

1. PSU, are the Corsairs worth the extra money or should I stick with the included Antec, anything else?
2. Cooler, decided to stick with liquid AIO since the Air Coolers like the NH-D15 is REALLY bulky
3. MoBo I assume it's good enough. Seems it's getting decent reviews.
4. GPU, since we are on the brink of the RTX 30xx launch, should I rather wait to see price/performance of RTX 30xx cards and then decide. Don't want less performance but surely don't want to pay more than R17k though!

Thanks guys, let me know what you think and rip the build to pieces if needs be :)

Don't buy that CPU and motherboard. If you are dead set on Intel (and I can't imagine why you would be), they have just announced/released their 10th gen parts which require a new motherboard socket. So, the moment you buy this CPU and motherboard, it will be out of date. It will be the previous generation and you will never be able to upgrade your CPU to a new generation.

My recommendation would be to either buy an Intel 10th gen CPU and motherboard combo, or, buy an AMD X570 motherboard and a suitable CPU.

In terms of CPU, AMD is releasing their next generation CPUs sometime this year. But we don't know when. So, you can either buy an 8 core 3700X now, or buy a 4 core 3100 and then wait for AMD to release their new CPUs.

EDIT:

In terms of GPUs, both Nvidia and AMD have got new cards coming out this year. Nvidia has an announcement to make tomorrow actually. But my guess would be that new cards only become available around September.

However, rumours are that the new cards are MUCH faster than the old ones. Like 30% faster. Or more.

Sound advice! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.
I'll start researching Intel 10th Gen vs AMD X570/Ryzen 3700x now.
I've read AMD is kicking serious ass at the moment.

I'll wait for Nvidia's announcement... although September is a bit too far away.

Yeah, I might even go back to the red team if they de

I could find reviews on one Marvo keyboard:

The only bad parts seem to be very limited features and cheaper feel.

I can only comment on the Red Dragon Yama, which I find great. It is the only mechanical keyboard I've used for more than a few strokes, so I can't really compare it to the rest.
It was also around the R1000 mark when I bought it.
RedDragon Yama K550 has some good reviews and I see takealot has it for R1000.

Might just be my next keyboard, I always bought the cheapies for R150.

I don't see the new Intel 10th gen chips in Wootware yet, although they can't be more than a few weeks away.

AMD is kicking serious ass! The thing is, Intel chips will still get you the highest absolute framerate. If you were a competitive gamer and you needed the highest framerates, then go for Intel.

The downside with Intel is that your power consumption is significantly higher. They use a lot more power, and they produce more heat, which means they need more cooling power.

But AMD's framerates are not that much worse than Intel. Like, maybe 95% of Intel's framerates, but the advantage is lower power usage, lower heat, and you can upgrade them for longer. Also they are superior for non-gaming workloads, like productivity. So, if you do a mix of gaming and productivity stuff, AMD is probably better for that.

Wait until tomorrow and then Nvidia should announce the release date of the new cards. It could be much sooner than September.

Really appreciate the input. Let's wait for tomorrow and hear what Nvidia's got to say.

In the meantime I'm looking at the Ryzen 3900x seems like a very good CPU, for that matter even the 3700x.

Again thanks for the advice!

Now is an interesting time to buy. We are on the cusp of new tech being announced or released, but the Rand also tanked and some places haven't raised their prices yet.

I agree that X570 with AMD is the way to go, that way you can easily upgrade to 4000 if it's much better.
While intel 10th gen isn't that big an improvement over 9th gen, but they will have more cores. I'm still of the opinion that if you want longevity and Intel, you buy the i9 9900K or nothing.

The 3700X doesn't seem that much more expensive than it was, but good luck finding a decent motherboard at an decent price.

How come?

All affordable X570 MSI motherboards except one (X570 Tomahawk) have crappy VRMs, causing some higher end CPUs to thermal throttle.
Pretty much all other manufacturers boards are better than those for the same price or cheaper.
