Prices for all AMD Base Rigs have been completed. Tomorrow all Gaming Rigs prices will be added. Hopefully this thread will be fully functional by 3 P.M. tomorrow.

All Gaming Prices have been added. And extra Performance graphs have also been added.

Consider pasting these to a gmail spreadsheet document. Make it viewable to all but only editable by you. Then post a link in your OP.
Consider adding worksheets listing "Base Rigs" ect.

Thought of that, but it would be too many links for people to open up. Rather just keep it plain and simple

Nice thread we've thought of doing this before, but we all been to lazy :D
Well done man looks nice and easy to read!

Gaming Rigs and Llano APU's have been updated, made more affordable.

Hi all

I'm setting up a new build for my cousin. Overall cost worked out to around R11 000. Will try and post specs and a build log here. And for my efforts in helping him choose the right parts and put the while rig together, I was rewarded with a brand new Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 2TB Hard Drive :D

This build thread is really tempting me to upgrade my Q6600 for Diablo 3... I wanted to wait till Ivy launches, but from what I've seen, it's not that great an improvement. R4500 or so to do the complete upgrade though... :(

If you really want a major improvement, then I suggest you wait it out until Haswell releases, along with its new architecture. Ivy Bridge is only a die shrink of Sandy-Bridge, meaning that the manufacturing process has been brought down from 32nm to 22nm, processing power will increas by about 10-15%, but the only real big improvement will be intergrated graphics on the CPU. Your Q6600 will be suffice for Diablo 3 and upcoming games, spend how much of your R4500 you're willing to spend to get yourself a decent graphics card to hold you out until Haswell releases and then do a full system upgrade.

This post is in reply to my cousins rig which I am building for him, main purpose is to be able to write Blu-Ray discs and video encoding, but also some light gaming will post screenshots and pics later. Some of his "have to have parts" in the rig were, an unlocked i7, an Aerocool case, and a Nvidia garphics card. He already had a powersupply and he insisted on not buying a new one, even though it was an Aerocool 78+ 730W PSU, and finally he said that it must be overclocked past 4 Ghz :D

Specs for my cousins rigs are as follows :

CPU : i7 2600K - Overclocking Goal = 4.5Ghz
Motherboard : ASUS P8Z68-V
GPU : Point of View GTX 550Ti
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Case : Aerocool Sixth Element
CPU Cooler : Antec Kuhler 620

Will update you with screenshots soon
