I have been giving this a lot of thought lately, and must admit, I absolutely love Iburst lately.
The account as it is now is perfect. I have a 1 GB account for R239 per month (still on contract)
For my R239 I get.....
2GB data at the beginning of each month to be used at full speeds all day till it runs out.
Then when it does run out, I still have access at 64kpbs from 8AM till midnight.
Then from midnight till 8AM I have my full speed back.
This really is a winning recipe, BUT
At the end of my contract period, I will be forced to pay extra for the 64kbps service.
Also, I am not sure whether I will qualify for the full speed service after that because one of the conditions of using this service is that you still have bandwidth left over. I know they are allowing those on contract who reach there cap to utilise it. Can somebody perhaps confirm, who is using the throttled service as a VAS, if they can use full speeds during the "happy hour" time (obviously once they've reached their cap)? Either way, I will probably cancel my account when the contract is up, because I cant see myself paying over R300 for a half-assed uncapped account which ADSL can do so much better.
And also, what about this after hours service? What happens after the 3 month trial? Do Iburst realize they have a winning recipe here, and keep the service free, or do they do as history tells us, and charge for it??? If so, then this recipe suddenly seems not so tasty :erm:
anyway, this is just my 2cents.
