There's no such thing as a rebound. It's just something people make up after a break-up to break up with the person they chose to be after. Their self-esteem is dented and usually settles for less than they usually do.

This doesn't mean there's no feelings or anything, just that there's no rebound, they find someone better and move on. That's always the case.

Means that even on this "rebound" it might actually be what they want and stay forever and ever...

If your rebound is a girl with low self-esteem then yes she knows, she assumes the worst when she has a random sexual encounter with a guy whos just gotten out of a relationship. And girls with low self-esteem are usually very self-critical in a brutal sense.

I've been both the Rebound-er and the Rebound-ee. I had no feelings as the Rebound-er because well, I just came out of a long relationship. as a Rebound-ee I did. Maybe it's mostly circumstance.
