Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 65,000 cars due to a software glitch that caused its cars to unlock themselves.

The issue, which potentially creates a heightened theft-by-hijack risk, affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles sold in the UK over the last two years, the BBC reports. The flaw means that doors can remain unlatched even when in the “closed” position so that they can open while the car is in motion, Automotive News explains.

IMO, they shouldn't go into detail about the problem because they just telling the crooks how to do it.

I think that the only reason they are even aware of the problem is because the thieves have been targeting their cars.

Johan Rupert actually mentioned this in a key-note speech the other day. Apparently UK insurance companies refuse to insure RRs because of this fault.

Why do you always put the name of the newspaper in the front of your thread title?
