Hey guys,

So my pride and joy gaming PC was nicked about two weeks ago and the insurance is now replacing it. I wanted to get some input from you guys to see what you think of the replacement components.

On the left is what I had on the right is what they are replacing it with:

Asus Maximus ROG V Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force
Intel I7-3770 Intel I7-4770
850w Silent Cool 850w Silent Cool
Asus GTX770 OC Direct CU 2GB Gigabyte GTX770 OC 4GB
HAF Case CM Stryker
16GB Dominator Platinum 16GB Dominator Platinum
SSD is the same Corsair 240GB
HDD pretty much the same 1 x 1TB + 1 x 2TB
Asus 24" 144Hz :crying: Samsung 27" 120Hz
H100 cooling Eisberg Closed loop H2O

Your thoughts?

I am a huge Asus fan but have never experienced any issues with Gigabyte products. I know Asus will win hands down with after sales service, but I am getting full warranty on the new items.

Aside from the Screen I think I will be in a better position, no?

derp I think you already know your position.

Thank you for your insightfull comment.

I was interested in weighing up the Gigabyte vs Asus debate. as you can see the rest of the components are pretty much the same. I just haven't used Gigabyte for ages (about 4 ears since I had any Gigabyte components) so not sure what their new stuff is like.

But, as mentioned. Thank you so much for your comment.

The monitor shouldnt be too different.
I dont trust gigabyte at all, had way too many failures from them. Asrock or Asus for motherboards and MSI for gfx.

That is what I was afraid of - my last Gigabyte mobo just packed up without any warning. With Asus one of my previous mobo's got hit by lightning and Asus told me to bring it in and theyswoped it out without asking any questions.

yoh, did you opt for the Eisberg?

cash difference between an H100 and Eisberg is quite a penny

I didn't actually opt for it, the company that replaces the goods actually just included it. Would have preferred the H100 as it is a sealed unit. The Eisberg has to be assembled which could lead to human error....

Why not get a Asus Maximus or SABERTOOTH-Z87 again? Asus after sales support is one of the best not like you will ever use it again!

that puzzled me for a moment...

the Eisberg is a closed loop just like the H100/H100i/Hxxi/Hxx

no assembly needed upon initial purchase, aside from the usual fans

why I would opt for the Eisberg, is because it is expandable if you decide you want to add an extra RAD or maybe you want to cool 1 GPU as well

Didn't know that. From what I have read about the Eisberg (and I admit it was half hearted anyway) I thought it was a semi-assembled unit due to the fact that it has a place where you can add/tap out the coolant. But, if it is a closed loop then I am quite happy. From what I have seen the performance is better than the Corsair.

it indeed has that Fill Port, but it is what singles it out from a few of the other closed loops.

it is there so you can refill it once you made some changes, or just because you felt need to replace the old coolant.

but it comes stock already filled
