What a privilege to experience something like this. Please keep up the commentary Monty, this is not unlike watching Top Gear's Namibia special.. without the joking around.

I have always wanted to go to the Namib desert, this is really beautiful.
Kind wish I could ride through the desert on a Scrambler, bit that would likely cause irrevocable damage.
Good day,
The last round of the Southern Region Off-Road Championship, the Desert 300 will be held at Oranjemund on the 5th and 6th of October this year. This is the ultimate challenge and we have riders from all over South Africa and Namibia. We cater for bikes, cars & quads.
Please Note!!!
Town are officially open and no clearances required.
For any kids planning to come along from SA please make sure from Inland Revenue as they will need an Unabridged Birth Certificate to cross border. It may take too long to apply for one in time so as long as you can get a letter stating that you did apply for this. This is very important.
Here’s some info. Please feel free to contact Dewald at (00264) 81 2699 164 or email – [email protected]

Hi Mortymoose
These pics you took on your expedition are amazing.
Is it at all possible to travel to Roter Kamm, or is the whole area off-limits to civilians? I am a very amateur geologist and I love visiting craters.
