I suspect Marx's introduction will coincide with Vermeulen's exit. With Vermeulen off the field (he's unlikely to play the full 80), a big threat at the breakdown is removed. But with Marx, that threat is reintroduced. So if the AB's thought they'd have it easy at the breakdown with Thor off, they'll have another thing coming when Marx runs on.

Squad for second test

South Africa

15 Damian Willemse, 14 Jesse Kriel, 13 Lukhanyo Am, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Handre Pollard, 9 Jaden Hendrikse, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 Siya Kolisi (captain), 5 Lood de Jager, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Frans Malherbe, 2 Bongi Mbonambi, 1 Ox Nche

Substitutes: 16 Malcolm Marx, 17 Steven Kitshoff, 18 Vincent Koch, 19 Franco Mostert, 20 Jasper Wiese, 21 Kwagga Smith, 22 Herschel Jantjies, 23 Willie le Roux
I really dislike picking a centre as the wing replacement...

All Blacks – 15 Jordie Barrett, 14 Will Jordan, 13 Rieko Ioane, 12 David Havili, 11 Caleb Clarke, 10 Richie Mo’unga, 9 Aaron Smith, 8 Ardie Savea, 7 Sam Cane (c), 6 Shannon Frizell, 5 Scott Barrett, 4 Sam Whitelock, 3 Tyrel Lomax, 2 Samisoni Taukei’aho, 1 Ethan de Groot.
Subs: 16 Codie Taylor, 17 George Bower, 18 Fletcher Newell, 19 Tupou Vaa’i, 20 Akira Ioane, 21 Finlay Christie, 22 Beauden Barrett, 23 Quinn Tupaea.

Concerned Whitelock will try and unsettle Dweba who hasn't always been the best lineout thrower.

Also, BB off the bench.

Best way to get to Ellis Park on Saturday ? Have a parking nearby I can use just not sure how safe it is walking back after the game

How far is the parking? We've done Troyeville hotel before the game, left our car just in front - it's on the street but they've got security patrolling that street. Get there proper early doors, have a good ol pub lunch before the game, it's maybe a 7, 8 minute walk? I mean the area is dodge but I've never felt unsafe, and after the game there's normally quite a few folk walking that way. Place will get proper packed before the game though.
Only done this with other guys, if I were taking my children I'd probably just uber.

Thanks, yeah this is basically the address, just the other side of the Ellis Park Complex.

Look if it were me and I had that parking and I wasn't drinking, I'd use it. There's generally folk walking in all directions after the game. Will be dark but like I said I find the area more run down than dangerous.
Buuut this is SA, and JHB, so you know, I don't wanna be the guy that says go walking and next thing you get robbed or whatever, so go with what makes you comfortable.
But yeah I've walked further than that from Ellis Park; there is/ was this Portuguese restaurant maybe 1, 1.5 km from the stadium? We'd go there, had secure parking, go to the game, walk back. Bunch of guys though.

Yeah thanks arriving there with the wife but walking back with a group so should be fine will check how it goes tomorrow

I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have Damian Willemse on the wing and Willie starting at the back. Although Damian had an amazing game last week at the back, if ABs put the ball over the defense I hope he can handle thr constant pressure.

I'm not a Jesse Kriel fan

I think Jesse on the wing is probably the least disruptive move. Damian is flourishing at fullback right now so let him stay. Another option was maybe to shift DDA to the wing and bring Damian in at 12 but DDA and Am are close to world rugby's premier centre pairing right now so let them continue.

Willie, I don't know. He seems to be playing better right now as a sub so maybe let that continue. Jesse then seems the logical starting number 14.

Damn our number 12 Springbok lady is a beast. Damn she is fast and has the strength to just push defenders off at will. Very good first half.
