Execution, execution, execution!
Too many dropped balls, turn overs, back line players just not able to compete with flair...honestly, as much as it saddens me to admit it, if it weren't for the brute force and size of our pack we probably would be ranked far lower!

We have to adapt to change in playing styles, international rugby is not what it was even 5 years ago..we have the men, just not the right coaches imo.

I'll always be a Bok fan but really our lack of flair in general is our downfall.
We need a training camp with the French or All Blacks to see the light.

Yeah. Was sooooo lateral. But that's been an age old Bok problem to be fair.
My sentiments exactly. We have always had a number of brilliant players but as a team our rugby is just brute force 1 dimensional... we don't create space, utilise opportunities, and move ball to outside centres/wings fast enough.

I don't understand though. Everyone has been complaining about SA being so predictable and again we stick with lineouts and scrums even if they don't work for us. It's one of the reasons teams are catching up and overtaking the Springboks. We need a bit out of the box thinking if we want to stay in it or it will be a downward trend soon.

Hoping for some traditional French flair this evening against the Aussies.
Watching NZ trounce the Welsh earlier today was amazing to watch. That was breathtaking! And scary.

If only the Boks could take something from their game play we could be a world winning team again...

The boks are now without a world class scrum or fly half. You can get away without one, but both, nah....

Kolbe is a wing and wiliamse is a full back, gone are the days when a utility back can fill those roles.

SA are in big trouble if we can't find new halfbacks, especially fly. Hopefully pollard is there at the world cup and gives a few more years to find a replacement.

And that's not even talking about a decent full back...

EDIT: and if you are a halfback who can't kick, either for poles or for field, then you're not a halfback

I actually think the French is the most over hyped team there is.

They play good but not THAT good.

What a try by the Aussies.

I was pretty impressed at what ours backs where capable of with Willie being first receiver and they skip De Allende. We need a play maker like Willie at 10. Not the traditional kicker we have been playing for 100 years. We have the backs. De Allende not there, Am back and maybe Ruan Combrink at 12. With a play maker flyhalf. We'll be a completely different team. The forwards we have are probably the best ever, but they don't have the backs to play the front foot ball. Also need a Joost or Fourie du Preez type scrumhalf...

Picking a test side without a recognized goal kicker is asking for trouble. How can you expect Damian or kolbe to do that job in a test when they don't regularly kick for their province or club...

The blame lies with the coaching staff.
We also seem to have no backline after Am got injured.

The 9. Hendricks? Is completely useless. I hate that style of play on a scrummy that just stands around takes long to pass and does nothing.

We looked a lot better when faf came on.
Comically poor handling, bad luck errors and no one that can kick cost us the game

The thing is though is that Faf came on when we were already chasing the game at 16-6 down and having to play quickly. My question is then, why don't they always play like that, because you're right. The service was a lot more snappy.

We generally kick the ball away and play defensive. So then you want a slow, structured grind.

The 7s team having a shocker again in Hong Kong.

Lost against Great Britain
Lost against France
Lost against Fiji
Lost against Argentina

Going downhill fast are we.
