Was a part of the game 10min or so prior to and after half time where I thought they lost it a bit. Too many mistakes and penalties. Can't afford 2 yellows vs the All Blacks. Lucky not to have had a 3rd one just before Arg scored, Thought the ref blew the rolling maul different when we were defending it. A lot more lenient with Arg.... or it might just be my lack of knowledge in that area :) Must say, I was impressed with the Arg scrum though
SA v Arg Baby Boks. I am no rule expert but I was stunned with the number of penalties the Baby Boks were conceding in this time frame. It was hard to believe that one team could be penalised do much, while the other team was virtually flawless. I am interested in what someone on the forum who knows the rules thinks?

Ireland 106 Portugal 7... They were the blue eyed boys at the 2023 RWC. Their rugby has regressed significantly since then.

I'm referring to Portugal btw
Thanks. I somehow missed this one. Excellent stuff. I thought 100 were a thing of the past and it often looks like teams lose interest if they blow past 50. We need more of these games.

They have to be trying out new rules or something? I'm just watching highlights and some of the penalties yellow cards look ridiculous. And it happens in all the games.

The only new rule on trial is/was the 20min red card thing. As @Londo mentioned, difference in penalty count didn't make sense, especialy against a side like Arg :)

Jasper Wiese will miss the bulk of the Rugby Championship as punishment for his headbutt on an Italian player in Gqeberha.

He’s has been slapped with a four-match suspension after receiving a red card in South Africa’s 45-0 thrashing of Italy.

The suspension, confirmed by a World Rugby disciplinary panel on Tuesday, means Wiese will miss the final Test of the Incoming Series against Georgia in Nelspruit, both Rugby Championship clashes against Australia in Johannesburg and Cape Town (16 & 23 August), and the first All Blacks Test in Auckland (6 September).

Rassie should schedule four matches against Zimbabwe next week.

Is there information where one can read exactly why he committed the crime? Surely a professional rugby player would understand the consequences of what he did? Public knowledge?

The Italian player probably told him he doesn't like his "snor" (moustache). All jokes aside, probably just a case of Red Mist.

Tons of rugby action again this Saturday but the top games -:

- NZ v France - 09H05,
- Australia v B&I Lions - 12pm,
- Bokke v Georgia - 17H10, &
- World Rugby u20 Championship Final - Junior Boks v Junior All Blacks - 20H30.
Guess my gardening chores can move to next weekend.
Was just getting ready.

World Rugby have clarified that deliberate infringements at the kick off should be a penalty.

LOL... They're already crying.
World Rugby = (AKA NZL / ENGLAND)

At kick off, let the ball just go directly into touch by a couple of meters... ;) :sneaky:;):sneaky:
Kicking it out the opposition has a choice whether to retake the kickoff, or a scrum. So that's not really going to work.

To be fair, they haven't changed the laws - they simply clarified the law that's already there.
