Correct yea, that was a typo. I'll fix.4080 looks like 12GB vs 16GB

Yea I fixed it.There's no 8Gb...$899 for 12Gb.
Looks like the 4070 and 4060 aren't going to launch till Jensen gets that 30-series inventory out the door.
Yea but as always, it's just vague nonsense.4080 is going to be pretty insane if those "2-4 times faster than 3080 ti" specs are true
Yea I fixed it.
I'm sure that's what he's waiting for. Out with the old, wait for the new.
Exactly. I wonder if they'll be the last to ditch. I somehow doubt it.Looks like EVGA got out at the right time (or maybe too late depending on what they have in their warehouses) - any AIB holding onto 3090 or 3090 Ti stock is going to have to sell below that 4080 price point. Nobody is going to buy last gen if they can get the newer stuff cheaper or at the same price.
And EVGA were already losing money when the 3090 \ 3090 Ti were well over a $1000.
OK so all those early rumours of massive power requirements for the 40 series was maybe just to get people to bite the bullet on 30 series for those that don't/didn't have high capacity PSUs//.
RTX 4000 Sum up:
- RTX 4090: $1599. Available October 12th. Promised performance of up to 2x a 3090Ti. 850W PSU.
- RTX 4080 16GB: $1,199. Promised performance of up to 2x a 3080Ti. 750W PSU.
- RTX 4080 (12GB): $899. Promised performance of more than a 3090Ti. 700W PSU.
Check the PC Build thread, that's where the commentary has been.Sweet, didn't watch the keynote, any noticeable improvements?
I think we need to see. That's a massive uplift in CUDA cores, I'd be surprised if it's using the same power, I reckon they'll be more power hungry. Factor in transient loads and I reckon the overall usage will be higher.OK so all those early rumours of massive power requirements for the 40 series was maybe just to get people to bite the bullet on 30 series for those that don't/didn't have high capacity PSUs//.
What are the odds of getting a 4090 for under R60 000?
What’s Next?
Looking ahead, we’re continuing our push for more efficient gaming with AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture. As the first AMD graphics architecture to leverage the 5nm process and our chiplet packaging technology, AMD RDNA™ 3 is on track to deliver an estimated >50 percent better performance per watt than AMD RDNA™ 2 architecture[6] – truly bringing top-of-the-line gaming performance to gamers in cool, quiet, and energy-conscious designs.
Contributing to this energy-conscious design, AMD RDNA™ 3 refines the AMD RDNA™ 2 adaptive power management technology to set workload-specific operating points, ensuring each component of the GPU uses only the power it requires for optimal performance. The new architecture also introduces a new generation of AMD Infinity Cache™, projected to offer even higher-density, lower-power caches to reduce the power needs of graphics memory, helping to cement AMD RDNA™ 3 and Radeon™ graphics as a true leader in efficiency.
We’re thrilled with the improvements we’re making with AMD RDNA™ 3 and its predecessors, and we believe there’s even more to be pulled from our architectures and advanced process technologies, delivering unmatched performance per watt across the stack as we continue our push for better gaming.
