So we're 24 hours or so away from Golf's greatest rivalry. In Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, both teams have players in fine fettle. Should be a cracking good competition with the US desperate to win back the Cup on home soil.

I am just as stoked for this. You guys have any idea where I can watch this online?

You can try BTSports. That's the site I used when the SS stream is acting up. Never had an issue watching what I wanted on it so far...

Heya

So this weekend was great if you love watching Golf. Some great golf played overall but Europe didn't do very well in the singles yesterday. I am disappointed in the way they did in the singles but I knew before the Ryder Cup started that USA would win.

I unfortunately let this thread die, as after watching for about 20 minutes on Friday evening, I simply couldn't handle the American crowd anymore. There's supporting your players, and then there's going out of your way to be rude and obnoxious. The American team to their credit were gentlemen to the end, but their supporters were disgusting.

Congrats nonetheless to the US team. They played some amazing golf!

Congrats nonetheless to the US team. They played some amazing golf!

They were indeed excruciatingly bad, really went overboard.

It seems that Pete Willett's column wasn't as satirical as we thought, since it seems much closer to the truth than the Americans would care to realise.

I was wondering if I was in the minority over the SS feed. It has become a quite poor to the point I would rather follow sport in updates on other websites than watch the buffering, break up and sub standard quality.

Like you said, the crowds were particularly excruciating, painful to the point of muting the sound off.

The quality of golf was superb, though. The course they played on was in great condition and provided just the right amount of trickery without being overly difficult. Made me want to get back out on a course sometime soon.

The scoreline misrepresented the intense competition. All players gave it there all (even if one or two could be confused for periodically being drama queens) and the USA were deserving winners. Like Dale Hayes said in his weekly newsletter, "I do believe that an American win is good for the Ryder Cup. If the Europeans had kept winning, the American public would have gotten bored. This is only their second win since the turn of the century and there is no doubt in my mind that this is going to enhance the event both for American and world-wide audiences."

He also inserted this quip, which made me smile:
One of the funny stories to come out of the event happened on Thursday during a practice round, so even before the Ryder Cup had teed off. Some of the European players, including Rory McIlroy and Andy Sullivan, were heckled by a spectator after missing a putt.

The heckler was invited onto the green to see if he could do a better job and Justin Rose even placed a bet of $100 on him. The heckler, David Johnson, said afterwards, “I closed my eyes, swallowed my puke, and hit the putt. It happened to go in.”

Cape Town - Rickie Fowler has broken the internet with his shrug of the shoulders picture after helping his USA side to victory in this year's Ryder Cup.

The United States regained the Ryder Cup for the first time since 2008 with a convincing 17-11 victory over Europe at Hazeltine on Sunday.

However, it was Fowler who stole the show with the "shot" of the tournament.

In a team photo taken at the conclusion of the event, team USA golfers brought their partners in for a celebratory shot.

The photo of the unaccompanied 27-year-old Fowler shrugging as his team-mates kissed their partners took social media by storm.

Fowler beat Rio Olympic gold medal winner, Justin Rose, 1-up in their singles match
