What do you suggest?
I honestly have no idea how to do that, but something does need to be attempted

The vast majority of the work does still need to be done by the municipality to collect rubbish and make it easier to keep an area clean without a doubt, but education needs to be stepped up to educate communities on how a clean space is a healthier space.

Seems like Phalatse is facing a rebellion in her own caucus and she's going for the "culture of fear" excuse if she loses at both the caucus and Congress...

Rama's camp seems divided...

In today's Sunday Times btw...

Seconded.

Yeah, problems lie a lot of times with the communities as well. So it's two-pronged really, if the muni does do its job, then it is the community who gives zero ****s. Other way round as well...
In this case it's most likely both, because we know Ekurhuleni is not exactly a fine example of where we govern.

If she loses? You mean when she loses, right?
That woman is not okay in the head, the fact that she even believes she has supporters, pity the DA does not do the minimum nomination threshold thing because we could have seen just how many supporters she has.

6 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR LITTERING.

How's that for education?

How much for the politician who doesn't ensure that garbage is collected?

Zero unfortunately. It's the appointed official's job to ensure it. Long line of command before we get to politicians.

And you guys always say I am trolling, who approves the budget of the municipality, the appointed officials or the elected ones? If the elected ones decides that the garbage removal appointed official only gets a budget that is only enough for 4 trucks while the city needs 10, it is the appointed officials fault?

If they can prove that all the rubbish collection etc etc has been happening then maybe some sort of criminal sanction can be applicable.

For me though it needs to be a more significant sanction for political people and municipal people who are not doing their job in respect of rubbish collection and such.

I want to stop the guy throwing his kfc packet out the window.

Changing the labour and electoral law will sort out the other stuff.

What if the garbage removal oaficial (is an ANC apparatchik who) doesn't apply for the right budget, doesn't put together a proper document, tries to manipulate the tender to give his mates the opportunity then screws it up anyway so it is objected to and, surprise surprise, no trucks are bought?

Is he or she a politician?
