The DA did get the lions share of election funding- around R127 million versus next biggest funded ANC- R47 million and ActionSA- R40 million. You have to have funding to get votes. That's how politics work. They inevitably got a 1% increase in National and a decreased overall majority in WC. That seems a huge investment and they will need to sustain it.

Will backers feel that they got bang for their buck?

If we talking about funding and voting- as stupid as we all think Zuma is- it seems like MK thrived without much reported funding (I'm not discrediting illicit and undeclared funding- which is likely with the MK crowd).

MK is being funded. That is what you should be worried about. As a DA funder I am happy.

Absolutely... Universal health coverage is important but it has to be sustainable and practical, the NHI is neither of those.

Well given that signing the NHI probably had a hand in the ANC falling as far as it did I think your GLM will offer shelving the NHI as a carrot, the DA won't have to take it to court.
