I think the ANC should not worry about such things like the inevitable happening. That ship has sailed. What they need to focus on is a rebuilding of the party from the ground up.

The trouble that can arise now for the Cyril camp is the MK actually agreeing to work with them, even to the point of conceding some power for the coalition to work, which is a real possibility because they don't have much to lose in giving their Gauteng vote to the ANC to govern Gauteng.

The challenge the ANC have is the pressure to be seen to be respecting the will of the people by reaching out to everyone, including the MK, if they did not do that those who are objecting to the DA deal will get power. For their sakes they should hope that the MK continues to ignore them so that they can have the power they need to go forward without them.

I still reckon an ANC/MK coalition would work best. ANC keep GP and everywhere else bar WC. MK get KZN and a decent share of cabinet posts

Cyril is history at this point in time so no point making a fuss over him

Doing a deal with MK makes them uBaba's bitch.

And they will also have to explain to their people how someone who is an ANC member was allowed to go rogue, start his own party, take their votes and can now dictate terms outside the ANC's own processes. The biggest issue is it makes a mockery of the ANC's own constitution and democratic processes.

They need to cut him loose and expel him for their own sake, or they leave a door open for him to create more crises...
