There is an air of arrogance about a provinces current Premier ignoring the province they serve to go campaign in another. Its as if they feel the Eastern Cape is a surefire win for them (it probably is, but still), it just smacks of arrogance that the voting masses will vote for the ANC regardless and they don't need to use the big "guns" to campaign there.

This may be naive, but I very much doubt the ANC would allow that to happen, they would all lose too much money when the markets crashed properly this time.

The IFP has directed Umvoti Local Municipality Mayor Gabriel Malembe to resign from the post after a "coalition" with the ANC propelled him to the position.

This should be proof enough there will not be any coalition talks with the governing party, says IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa.

He and IFP KwaZulu-Natal chairperson Thami Ntuli spoke exclusively to News24 this week, denying speculation that they were on polar opposites over potentially accepting the ANC as a coalition partner.

Gauteng premier breaks promise to pay nonprofit organisations by 24 May

The Gauteng Department of Social Development has not yet paid organisations it has signed agreements with in spite of promising to do so by Friday, 24 May.
