Understandable, as a dying party they probably think there is more to gain in aligning with the popular MK in KZN, it has never ended well with Zuma but people always seem unable to resist the temptation.

The way I see it some MPLs from either ANC or IFP are going to go rogue, I totally don't see them standing firm, sad for KZN people but this doesn't look like it's going to end well, even if the ANC, IFP, DA gets it, it will always be a narrow victory resulting in an unstable government.
I still stand where I was yesterday, if you love it enough let it go, if it was yours, it will always come back to you, take some inspiration from how the ANC let go of the Joburg metros and now they are coming back to us. Short term pain for long term gain.

ANC+DA+IFP. Some are going to go rogue anyway and vote for MK.
Not sure why they're spending all this time and effort to hang onto it by the skin of their teeth.
MK must govern and expose themselves to everyone. Just let the problem fix itself naturally...

They don't need an outright majority. They just need the majority of votes. Some in the IFP and ANC will go rogue anyway and vote for them.
And given the fine margins, once they're voted in it'll be impossible to get them out with an outright majority...
