The Scishion V88 TV BOX thread

Into Coaxial SPDIF on your amplifier. Assuming you have an amp :)

The top one works the same. You can use the red or white coaxial connector to do the same. I did not believe it myself until I tried it with my Android TV box.

Ah Logitech Z5500's? :D

Yes. That is my exact setup. Android TV box to Logitech Z5500's using the first cable (was supplied with my older player though).

Enable pass though in Kodi and the speakers detect DTS or Dolby Digital audio 100%.

Not sure about finding the cable locally as I didn't have to look for one.

Sadly mine is screwed up :cry:

First switch on did not work, but it was not D.O.A. as it worked later. It stopped again, then worked for a while again. Now it has stopped again and not started up since. It kinda responds to the remote (on/off most of the time) but there is no picture, and there is a buzzing sound as well. I tried the reset buttton but nothing.

Too bad, one of my webcams worked but I did not get to try the HD one. I wanted to see if it could support another simultaneously for a cheap IP camera system.

$20, what kind of warranty would I get from Gearbest? It could cost quite a bit more than that to ship it back to them.

If you have a 3.5mm to Stereo RCA cable, it should work fine. If the Red RCA connector doesn't enable surround sound, the white one should

Whoa... :o Pretty sure I have one of those around somewhere.

The picture quality of this box is not overwhelming me though.. it's noticeably more grainy than the Chromecast.
 
I did a speedtest last night and on ethernet to my router it only got like 17mb/s, whereas I'm getting over 60mb on my PC and other devices. So I think the issue with image quality has to do with the poor line connection speed... but I have no idea how to fix it. Maybe a switch or something?
 
I have connected my 2tb external hard drive to the usb port and it does not pick it up

I plugged in my 16gb flash it worked

Tried to play Avi movie of the flash disk

It says some restriction error unable to play

But the movie plays perfectly fine even on my DVD usb port

Is there some setting to Change the playing format?
And how do I.get it to read.my 2tb external hard drive?

Anybody have buffering issues while streaming over your local network? How did you solve it?
 
I received my v88 yesterday. I have no streaming issues. Just Netflix have sync problem. Anyone with solution?
 
I did some research and the V88 cannot stream Netflix without a lag between the audio and the video. I did a long warranty claim against Gearbest and they are refunding the item 40% which is cheaper than we shipping back for a refund.

The issue seems to be Lollipop on the Rockchip 3229. KitKat and Marshamllow don't have this issue. See thread below for more detail. http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player...1-kodi-tv-box-1g-8g-wifi-lan-dolby-dts/page10

Finally gave up on this box and bought a MXQ Pro 4K.
 
The V88 is garbage, tbh. It's just not powerful enough and the hardware has all kinds of weird issues. Plus, image quality is really poor compared to my ATV4.

Similar issue with mxq player

Tried your advice. Only stereo works. No 5.1
