The Shave Union alternatives?

I was a loyal customer for years and bought bunch of blades when they closed down, but today I had to use the last one.

Is there any alternative in South Africa that exists or should I just suck up the stupidly expensive prices of Gilette?

I had to Google what Shave Union was, so my suggestion does not answer your query directly. Seems to have sold discounted blades?

Have you considered the old fashioned jack razor with snap-off blades?

I learned to use one many years ago, and yes I had a few nicks during the first week, but never had any since. The blades are dirt cheap, and gives a fantastic shave.

Blades are a grudge purchase, no need to waste too much money.

I only used them once when they only started out & then did some research only to discover they sold repackaged Dorco shaving products. Ever since then I`ve been getting my cartridges from Clicks.

You can also look into Clicks brand which is also top notch in my opinion.

I did try it, but I couldn't get the hang of it. I feel more confident using the jack razor.

Much of a muchness since both use the same blades. OP could try both as they are so cheap.

Philips Oneblade. Shaves close enough and you only see hair at around 2pm plus the blade last a year if not more. You can also dry shave and don't need shaving cream or after shave. Also can shave your whole body without worry and it's great for travelling due to its small size. Last but not least it shaves very fast. 2 minutes and I'm out the door. No brainer purchase.
