A little overdone but still wicked none the less

Adam, what do you think of the GTS compared to your RS (?)

owning both would = one fine garage i'd say

the M3 i posted and the RS? ... RS is a monster of a car, it does make an M3 seem tame :). It would be unfair to compare the two cars, the M3 you can have as your only car, while you can not have an RS as your only car ... would love to have both though :)

Wife caught me DROOLINg.. said she would buy me one for my birthday :) She didn't say what birthday :(

Wouldn't we all! But, consider yourself very lucky Adam! I haven't even had the pleasure of driving in any //M car and I'm probably the biggest BMW fan around :) But I'm sure my day will come, and when I get into one, it will be the one I buy.. I wish I had your dilemna :)

I know it is difficult to judge as there are currently no existing examples to gage from, but what do you think of the concept? As an ex M owner and current enthusiast (?) i'm sure you will agree that this is what we have all been waiting for. Just have to find away to get a few to SA even if it cannot be licensed.

The 996, 997, 997.5 are SICK cars. Looks are subjective, but they are pure bred machines forsure and you are a lucky man

the GTS... BMW has said will compete head on with the 2010 GT3 RS ... but the price is crazy, i recall it being around the same price as an RS, (which i can beleive seeing that in 2003 a CSL cost almost R1M) ... and if that is the case then i would rather take the MK.2 RS ... BUT you right it definitely would be an option if i do decide to sell the RS ... and you again on the button as that garage would look so sweet :) ... (an RS and GTS)

the e92 M3 i do have a sweet spot for that car, and I'd give a small "sigh" every time i see one :) ... the GTS would be the ultimate ... really loved the CSL when it came out in 2003 and till today is on of the best cars ive driven ... for now im keeping the RS ... have no big "WANT" for any other car ... maybe im finally content :)

EDIT: big issue with BMW is they drop in value like crazy, a Porsche still holds it value much better .... the new price of the RS in 2007 was R1 795 000, trade is R1 600 000 and retail R1 750 000 about a month or two ago, the last time i checked ... an M3 CSL was if im not mistaken in 2003 listed at R930 000, they going for around R500k these days ... so i would kick myself spending so much on an M3 GTS ... only to see it in a year or two drop in half ....

Personally even as a hardcore M enthusiast, if i had a GT3 or GT2 i wouldnt sell it for any bmw. Rather just save up and have 2 or even 3 cars as there should by law always be an M car in my stable :)

But i couldnt imagine selling any GT from porsche. They just so damn good, yeah they don't have the flair of a Ferrari or the Presence of a lambo. But they are sure as hell pure bred drivers cars built with a passion for perfection and theres nothing more precise out there. A weapon in the hands of the right driver, it rewards in many ways other than style or presence.

I am quite glad that the CSL lost so much in value, because now, just maybe i will have a chance to acquire that mean ass SOB. btw what is your opinion on daily driving a CSL?

My dream garage will have an M3 in it :) ... the GT3 RS is my first Porsche and the first time i got a drive in the car, my mind boggled ... i was in shock and awe (and this coming from an E92 M3 DCT and 135i BMW for a short stint) ... and since this day i really wanted one! ....its more than what i expected the car to be, but the Porsche RS is just a track car built for just that one purpose ... the M3 on the other hand is so much more of an all round car, where you can take your wife and her mother for a nice comfortable drive to the zoo :) and thrash the **** out of the car when you alone ... amazing what BMW engineers achieved with the M cars ...

CSL as a daily, would not be an issue i reckon, only thing that might erk you on long distances are the seats ... the SMG box on the CSL is a gem (funny enough i think its utter rubbish on the ordinary E46 ... its the same box, just different software ... !?) ... at the time the price did not make sense to me why the CSL was twice the price of an ordinary E46 M3 ... until you drive one you understand why ... its really that great ... lets us know if you get one :) ... you will love it! .. stick with the grey if you can

Correct, it was just a software upgrade on the CSL's box. The concept of that car is just insane and from what i have heard the same is true when beating it at 10/10ths.

I wont be getting one anytime soon, but there will always be a spot open for the perfect example :) - and not to collect, but rather let it be free and do what it was built for.

Anyways, back on topic(sort of). Some more M Porn with an RS in there for the hell of it, perhaps the M3 GT2 out does the Vorsteiner goodies? :)
