Hello everyone. i wanted to tell you all that the way you make slap chips is to use a chip fryer is to let McCain slap chips sit in warm oil for 3 minutes - 5 minutes then let the oil get hot. cook it in hot hot cooking oil for 5 and a half minutes or you can just take a chip out and if it tasted cooked. pour it in a plate pour salt all over the chips mix the chips around with your hands put your thumb over the bottle of vinegar and spray it over your chips and there you have very soft chips

Ah, reminds me of the kafee slap chips, 2L Coke, taking it out and eating in the car with my brother and Dad, after a day's hard work in the sun. I loved it... OP, will try this when I get the chance to make slap chips again...

Best slap chips I found accidentally - in the most unlikely place. I was going for a boat ride at Hout bay. I had not eaten all day and had 40 mins before the boat was to leave. There is a shack near Drumbeat charters. The chips looked pale and unappetising - but were the softest, most balanced chips ever. Perfectly cooked through. By balanced I mean they were not too oily. Just right. I will definitely eat there again.

At home, we have a shop we call Phillips. They do the best salt and vinegar chips in the area.
