Basically those small cube like jobbies. What are they called?
 
yeah i don't think micro-atx is what i want. i have one of those boards on a "normal" chassis.

i'll do some searching on the minis.
 
There's also Flex-ATX form factor, think it's somewhat proprietary though.
 
i think they may be used in htpc type setups now that i think about it.

Looking at kayvee's link definitely mini-itx or smaller.

EDIT: The wiki link had an Aopen XC mini example which lead me to this. This is what i was talking about.

rather than start a new thread - i recently saw a chassis/box that is attached/clipped onto a monitor. what would i search for when looking for one of those?

They're usually Atom powered. One brand I know is the EEEBox, which is stocked by online retailers here.
