The Starfield thread

I will return to Fallout 4 after Starfield. Never really played that a lot. Spent half my life on Oblivion and Skyrim (    )

But geez....going to be a while until I'm done with SF... lol. Feels like a long term commitment... like a marriage. :X3:

Met my now wife about the time Skyrim came out. Had to have a conversation about how little she will be seeing of me when I get it

Had to have the same conversation last week about Starfield

Back in the days of Oblivion and then Skyrim I also met my wife and I played those games as we dated and then as a newly married man. Back then the old PC was connected to the tv in the bedroom (long HDMI) and I would be playing whilst she watched. She loved watching me play. After Skyrim was beaten (for the umpteenth time) I tried to play other games...but the missus complained... she likes the fantasy stuff.

Yeah the good old days... many a game was played in the bedroom... /whistles. :whistling:

Nowadays my old pc is slow and useless. Have a Series S connected in the lounge to the 4K tv and it's constant competition between me and the kids to play. Meh.

Bru you're stronger than the kids, this shouldn't be a battle. ;)

Oblivion was someone else. . .
I think I still actually have that one's save backed up on a CD somewhere

Whelp, I'm playing it on a 4th gen i5 with a 1060 6gb, 32gb Ram and on an SSD... with the occassional stutter, but still enjoying it. Love the stylings being very 70s to 80s scifi with modern equivalences built into the aesthetic, like what looks like e-ink tablets along with digital photo-frames, amongst other stuff.

Ship fights are a bit too arcady for me tbh. Star Citizen has it beat for details and of course landing wherever the **** you want and not as a load screen (when SC works good lol). But I do love the ship building and base building mechanics.

I'd say go GamePass or wait a bit for a drop in pricing, but it's not the worst Bethesda launch I've played imho.
