The Starfield thread

No thanks. Not that desperate to play the latest releases. Plenty of other older games I still have to try out so I can wait till Starfield is much cheaper and patched. Did the same with Cyberpunk.
One is forced to wonder why you even commented on the thread if you are not prepared to rent it or buy it now at launch. Its like walking into a room and saying loudly "I am cold" and then when offered a jacket you say "no." One can only assume you like the sound of your own voice.

Any other poor people here NOT buying the game now and waiting for a massive price drop and fully patched/fixed version in a year or so like me?
Poor or not poor. Don't have the system to play it. Couldn't even enjoy Cyberpunk. Will have to wait until I can get a good system again one day.

Will watch gameplay online while you play solitaire.

You know what to do. Do you really want to start playing during the week, instead of say, the whole of next weekend... :whistling:
I'll be patient, still have plenty to do in BG3 and getting it for free on game pass. I'll just ignore this thread and the internet for 5 days.

But if you can't afford a system to play it, doesn't that automatically imply you're poor?

Why not rent it?

Thats the route I am taking but with Ultimate as I own an Xbox.

Edit: Will buy the GOTY edition in 1-2 years with the DLC's when on sale, if its worth it.
Wouldn't the GOTY edition be on Gamepass? Or at least, the DLCs be available if you're subscribed?

Ubisoft's subscription gives access to the best / full version of all their games, for example.

1. Highly doubt that, seeing that they charge for the Premium upgrade that includes 1st DLC
2. 1st party games like Minecraft Dungeons is and stay in GamePass but exclude the DLCs

Also, not Planning to keep my subscription running, Once it expires I will sub on a month-to-month basis depending if they have something worth playing or not. Unlike PlayStation Plus there is no incentive to keep the sub active if you not using it. On PS+ I get at least 2 games a month added to my library if I stay subscribed.

Ubisoft's subscription gives access to the best / full version of all their games, for example.
Only Ubisoft + (Pro)
Ubisoft classic also exclude DLC's

Edit: Also Ubi+ = R209 p/m GamePass = R79 p/m
So you kinda paying for those DLC's on Ubisoft.

Don't know if that's a good or bad thing? Good I guess

Good In my eye's and expect more before launch, only planning to play on the 6th after the other lot Beta tested the game for me. :D

Edit: Forgot to add this 15.48 gig update is probably bugs all the reviewers caught. So yes its good if they fix it that quick. ie: All hands on deck.

Yeah that is a good thing indeed.

I will also be "renting" the game as I have been burned too many times now in the last year with fomo buys. (Looking at you Diablo)

I know there are a lot of people that enjoyed it but it just didn't grab me like I thought it would. Perhaps D2 spoiled me too much. I dont know. Maybe I will return in a year or so and give it another go.

BG3 on the other hand was super worth it and a testament of what a worthy sequel should be and it made me realize how underwhelming D4 is.

I was really enjoying D4 (and to be fair, it's a good game and I've found it worth the investment) until BG3 came along. It's just in a different league.

Hold up.... Someone has already completed the game!?!

Don't then realize that after you complete the intro missions, you ditch the main quest and head off on the various side missions and join up with the various factions which helps you aviod the main story line for the next six months,
