The Starfield thread

I got myself amped for a game I can't even play :(

Well sell your One and buy an Series S Black edition. The white one is a waste cause of limited space.

Promo ends in 7 days and Starfield is included.

Edit: I like the IGN Brazil and IGN Espana scores are there but IGN USA seems to be missing.
Should Own up, not everyone is gonna like the game <-- nothing to be ashamed of. I mean for one everyone was raising Elden ring and I thought it was crap.

That's a bit misleading. Game pass is included, not starfield (though gamepass lets you play starfield) - but that's a subscription service, how long is the promo sub for?
Promo makes it look like you'll own starfield.

Them bastards. Was wondering how they could include R6K's games into the bundle.

Looks like only 4 months.

I read it as those games were preinstalled/downloaded, but required obviously still required game pass (and includes 4 months)

That's a huge difference . That stuttering is what I can't deal with and what is happening.

Frame rates might not drop, but it actually does because it freezes all the time while loading data.
I have no idea how my rig would hold up looking at the benchmark vids..... but if it runs it's probably going to be butt ugly. That's fine though, I have yet to see anything actually tempting.... it seems like the aspects most here enjoy the most (like prettying up the place) are ones that either I don't care about or outright annoy me.

As was said about FO4 (though apparently new to many here) will probably be true again in some way (only given what I have seen of the AI probably worse):
It's not a bad shooter but it's a bad RPG and a terrible fallout game.

Though they might have made it a worse shooter and a better RPG.... time will tell. It's odd that people forget these kinds of games can only be honestly evaluated after one or two complete playthroughs, making the hype all the more amusing.

What I do find odd about the new gen games is no one seems to have really bothered to find a fix for the microstutters.... but that might actually be the fault of CPU OEMS and vulnerability patches I am guessing. And the more embarissing it gets the more everyone tries to deflect to "but there is so much more HW variety in PC's".... when it never used to be a problem in the past to this current degree.

I suspect direct storage will be at best a band aid than a fix and wont really solve much anyway. But for now, if a game is over 40GB it's best to install it to an SSD.

Just let people enjoy what they do

If the hardware is dated, your performance will be. It's not rocket science.

By your perspective, that these games can only be honestly evaluated after completion or massive play time...then FO76 is the BEST Fallout game.

And that is why glowing reviews are not easily trusted these days...... except for BG3 perhaps.

"Dated" is a nebulous term. It can mean whatever the person saying it wants it to mean.

I see what you did there.... MP games (even those pretending to be SP games) don't count in this only SP games.

Performance seems to be ok on my PC
Ryzen 5 3600 with 32GB of 3200 ram, samsung 980pro NVME drive and RX6800

Just had a CTD though, just after I started playing (was exploring the pirate base on .. Kreed?)

Looks like someone took all the Starfield reviews, left out all the reviews below 9/10 and made a pic out of it.

Why would they include those when they're trying to promote their brand?

Haven't you seen those special edition games that include quotes from a few good reviews on the box?

I got that a ton on Monday/Tuesday. Like maybe 7 CTD. Last night, not one though. Maybe verify files, seemed to help for me. Also check AMD drivers, they did release one for Starfield.

Ah, I didn't realize it was posted by Xbox. Makes sense to only show the good reviews.

Starfield dlss 2 mod. Frame gen mod is still buggy.
Lut colours mod. 120 fps ui mod.

2560x1600 resolution 10bit.
All maxed out settings.
Dlss scaling 75%
Average fps is around 85.
1% lows 58.
I've seen spikes around 120 to 140fps.

The game performs well. It has some really funny and stupid glitches like most Bethesda titles. Overall, I'm enjoying it. To avoid spoiling anything, I've got about 13 hours of game time and mostly focusing on main quests and some odd side quests. It's about what I expected really. Like most reviewers have said, it opens up with time.

mmm yeah thanks. Was on a July driver!

Quick look at my ship and graphics and whatnot. Couldn't export at 1440p unfortunately.

Keen to see what you guys are flying.
