The Starfield thread

I keep spending far too much money changing my ship for no good reason. On the one hand I have a baller ship. On the other hand my money never gets above 250k.
I never get above 50k.
Assuming to get that much you would have competed the Crimson Fleet quest line.

I'm putting it off because I can't make up my mind on who to side with.

Siding with the pirates means you keep access to their base and the stores, and also their side quests. But your crew disapproves and UC will treat you kak, but at least you can still do your Vanguard quests.

Siding with UC kills access to the pirates and they'll be a constant annoyance by attacking you on sight...

cargo links will sort hopping trips to fill cargo.

Game is too good. Prob the best video game. EVER. Buying it on Steam. Has full cross progression.

I haven't done any Crimson Fleet quest line, mostly just side jobs, looting and selling a trillion things. Almost time for a new mattress my bed has seen so much action :D

Cargo link teleport waiting cargo to your current location right?

Does it put it in the ship?

If you could find a Trade Authority on a slow-rotation planet with a cargo link, that could be the solution to bulk sales.

Get the Razorleaf (Mantis)
Had shielded cargo for contraband
Oh and @Mike Hoxbig it also strike fear into em pirates so some even flee from you

How do you get started building an outpost? Is there a quest to complete first? Tried it on a planet but the outpost button was greyed out. Could have been because it was a dangerous environment? Didn't get any errors when trying to build. One guide said you have to place a beacon on the resource but can't figure out how to do that either.

Yea, been running it for a while. I have piloting skill 4, so basically all of my additional cargo is shielded. It's a great ship hey. But I need a more powerful reactor, this one only has 29 power and it's a pain :D

So find a planet with resources you want and then pick a landing spot with the resources you want to mine.

Open the scanner and then press R to place an outpost beacon - just check the resources you want are in it - at the top left of the screen it will show what resources are within the outpost zone. Once that's done, you can just build whatever you want to within the zone. V takes you to vertical view which makes it a lot easier to plan and build your outpost.

When you've built an extractor, you'll need storage. You also need to link the extractor to the storage so it has somewhere to go. If you have a crew mate with Hideout Management skills (Heller and Lin for example), you can build habitation for them and assign them to it, and they'll increase production.

If you build a large landing pad, you can also do ship modifications from there, which is better because it shows all parts from all manufacturers, unlike starports which only have a selection. Note, not all unique and fancy parts will be available, but the general stuff is.

Also, build turrets to defend it as spacers and animals will attack it.

Thanks. That might be the other problem that I landed at an existing building and need to land somewhere else first. Will give it a try again tonight.

Jumping from a planet surface, into high density populated NEON City within a few seconds..... Todd is an NVME drive God.

Both son and I are playing, yet are games and adventures are so far apart. He is a drug dealing gangster / pirate bigshot in a cyperpunk hedonistic city, meanwhile I am Bravestar, a planet hopping Ranger bringing justice to the wild western frontiers.

The fast travel makes it a bit easy to cheese certain aspects though

Contraband for an example
You can bypass scans by simply fast traveling into a district in New Atlantis

Pirates or bounty hunters waiting for you in orbit around the planet you are on?
fast travel to a city you've previously been to

I have a question:

How?
I have yet needed to buy anything from the shops so probably sitting on a heap of $$$ with all my looting.
I'm playing on hard so the medpacks and ammo that I loot isn't always enough, often need to keep stocking up at vendors...

Yea dude, I'm playing on very hard and it's tough man :D
I'm fine for the FPS battles, but ship battles on very hard are a nightmare when there's multiple enemies.

Yeah no, not touching that setting cause I suck @ playing FPS on the console.

Ordered an Upgrade kit for my PC from Eveteck today so maybe later...
Evetech :( No man.

Cool on the upgrade though, what did you get?

I haven't ordered yet... busy looking, don't wanna break the bank so looking at this only play FPS on PC.

Currently have an 4th gen I5

Edit: Well its a toss up between ^ that or maybe this one
Spec-wise that's about right.

I'd highly recommend talking to @Progenix Oj101 though. Evetech has a history of terrible service and dodgy practices, I wouldn't touch them if they were R1,000 cheaper.

What GPU do you have?
