Many many moons back, back in the day before i knew what raiding was and before i knew a place like Kara existed a hunter helped me and this dude had the coolest bow i've ever seen, the sunfury, so i told myself i want one of those.

I grew up since then, killed prince 19 times and the bow dropped once, i was in a pug with 4 hunters and i rolled a 3, (we have 3 kara teams, it will drop in the other 2 but not in mine, rogues, tanks and even a mages has one) so i decided that bow will never be mine, but with hope that someday it might fall, i used my badges on the armor side of things. I collected all the armor badges can get me and started saving for the chicken bow.

Last night i stood on 128 badges and knew if we do our little kara run (we moved on to 25's so we do kara for badges) and kill everything, i would own one schweet chicken bow, since i gave up on sunfury ever dropping for me and its sucky compared to badges bow.

We came to prince 3 hours later, me needing 3 badges - and there, 3 badges and sunfury - eish.

Thus, in my bank now i have 1 un-used sunfury bow and one brand spanking new Chicken Bow in my hand.

Why does it always happen like that?
 
Tell me about it, 43 prince kills and still NO SUNFURY!!!! It just does not want to drop :( Hope I have better luck on Illidian's bow!

Sometimes I just hate this game ;)
 
You guys can add me to the list. I think I was the only hunter on the server that did'nt have sunfury. Even the rogues + tanks had the bow. I have NEVER seen it drop in all my 40+ kara raid runs.

Worst and hardest drop I ever had to endure was Tier 2 shoulders from Chromaggus pre-TBC.... 53 Black Wing Lair runs before it dropped for me. Sadly the X-bow NEVER dropped for me from Chromaggus.

The game is cruel... very cruel. Latest one I am suffering with is the bow from Eredar twins... killed them for the last 6 weeks straight every week. And just the same caster crap drops every week.

The only bosses we had amazing hunter luck drops, was archimonde. The bow seem to drop every single kill. The Illidan bow is also pretty rare, because of Illidans vast loot table.
 
I got my Hunter to 66 this weekend so in 4 more levels I too can start bitching about the bow off Prince not dropping :P
 
Sorry but this is all PAIL in comparison. Try farming archi for months and no tempest of chaos drops. The night my pre paid runs out it does. Anyway got my Gul’dan skull last night so all is wellly :>
 
Peh,i've been raiding kara for 8 months - every week without a miss,ZA weekly for 4 months,gruul and maggy are pittens and we've downed our 2nd boss in BT. 2 weeks ago I finally got a pair of Tanking plate boots - from Solarian.

Why did I finally get these? Both the other warriors passed so I won't tank BT with pally boots anymore :P Not once did trash kara,chess or ZA boots drop. Not once

I think Legacy is rarer than Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix.

In fact, I think Legacy is a myth, a story told around Hunter campfires by old, grizzled hunters to awe and inspire the young 'uns to keep farming KZ rather than simply taking the easy way out and buying the Arena axe.
 
lol - there i was lucky - 1st time i ever saw the Crone (2nd time in kara) it dropped for me.

The 3rd time i went to kara, the x-bow from Attuman en the Gun from big bad wolf dropped and as i was the only hunter there, i got both
 
Well, that just proves that things balance out. No, you don't get everything you want. In fact, hooray for the RNG and in many ways, boo to badges/pvp welfare 'loot', lest we all be clones of each other. How boring.

I've got Fool's Bane and despite it not being all that great - a s2 MH would be better - i keep it, and love it, because the amount of enhancement shammeis on TH running around with one of the coolest looking 1H maces ever is... like, I can probably count them on one hand. I suppose I'll replace it with the mh badge fist someday for raw dps, sure, but for now, I <3 it muchly.
 
Meh, I farmed Kara for months trying to get that as an Offhand after they changed it from MH only to One-Handed and I never saw it drop.
I ended up picking up a S1 offhand.
 
Heh, the Sunfury...

A rogue in our guild acquired it before any hunters (were no hunters in the raid to give it to). From then on, it wouldn't drop... I had the gun from Alar, and even had the badges xbow before sunfury :eek:

I've also gotten Trollbane on my elemental shaman, after running 20 ZA timed runs in hope of getting it on my hunter.
 
lol - i got malchazeen last week - i think i have all the weapons in kara now, its official, now i need nothing from that place anymore.
 
Man ... I hope that friggen Malchazeen wont elude me like it does some guys...

I noticed on the forums that the "King's defender" sword is a pure tanking sword and some guys have done meelions of runs before ever getting it. On my 1st run it dropped for me ... on my 2nd run it dropped again, so it went for DE. (I love my night blade too much!)

Seems a few items I already have drop over and over.
 
ZOMG, we have that damned Stalwart Defender ring drop almost every ZA run. We've had only 2 of our runs where the 3rd chest dropped something different.
Thankfully all the other loot in that chest is so good that everyone wants it so if anything else does drop there is a member of the Raid who wants it.
