ya it all depends :/ sometimes the first group just wants to get it out 'first'.... but we not talking quality where half the movie is blocked out cause of the persons head in front in the cinema

Fair enough, but if "random MyBB staff reporter" knows about them, then it's quite likely all the people the *IAA employ to look for these sites know about them too. However, private sites tend to be more likely to use encryption etc., so good luck to them. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it cost millions to take down TPB, and they were back up in no time. And still are.

I love how some people moan, "oh no you can't talk about this, now 'they' know...", as if someone who's job it is to find these things wouldn't have while they're probably listed on google, have tons of members and participate in races. I guess it helps them think they're in some "leet" (puke, can't help it when I see that rape of a language) group that makes them feel special. Meanwhile there are probably preteens as members, must be really exclusive and hard to find.

Even private torrent trackers are as exclusive as smarties, they need a big userbase to work so thinking they're exclusive or elusive is an oxymoron.

If you read the article it uses the 10 most downloaded torrents as a gauge. And those are all top quality torrents. For example, there was a CAM version of Inception out months ago but very few downloaded it. Where as the T1 torrent used was the Inception DVDRip. Scene groups usually only release above a certain quality anyway - DVDSCR for example.

Not better in terms of content but speeds can at times be better. Major benefit of private trackers is that most torrents are checked and clean (no viruses).

the major benefit of private trackers is that people have the incentive to seed, less leeches = high

speeds, not to mention sites like scc, tl, hbd etc where many people have seedboxes.... anyone with

a bit of common sense can avoid getting viruses off public torrents, in years of using torrents i have

never gotten a virus from a public tracker.
