The Syrian Conflict Thread

Indeed, I was mostly just mimicking the typical responses here when any article, however credible and objective, is posted from RT or ZH for example. Invariably it is "RT :crylaugh:" etc without even reading the actual content.

This particular effort by Bellingcat just seems like a targeted character assassination of Postol, it doesn't really offer anything other than attacks on Postol, which is quite ironic given Bellingcat's own credibility leaves much to be desired; they wouldn't fare well if they were the target of a character assassination.

That aside, the US sent Tomahawks flying without ANY investigation, their version of events can be filed in the toilet as their credibility was shot to shyte the moment they acted without evidence yet again (like WMD in Iraq). The French version of events is based on an investigation where they relied entirely on third parties to collect evidence, it is a compromised and invalid investigation. The Russian version of events sound quite convenient for them, perhaps too convenient.

So who is going to give us some real objective facts on the matter?!?

what do you mean without investigation, they had pictures of people in surgical masks standing over the impact site of a sarin gass bomb. and besides, turkey said it was for real.

..lol

wondering, a lot of people rubbish RT as a state funded outlet blablabla, but are there incidents of rt altering news like ccn for example?

... damn I was actually busy typing a response before I realized this was sarcasm :o

Thanks. Still though, even if Bellingcat is sometimes unreliable it still doesn't mean their assessment about Postol using old information from 2013 and claiming it to be a current, is false. Are you saying this didn't happen and Bellingcat made it up?

His links don't even backup what hes saying, we just have to 'trust him' that bellingcat is responsible. As Orbital said though... Salty.

Bellingcat embarrassed the Russian regime over MH17 and exposed their lies over and over again. So Russian propaganda made it their mission to try and discredit them by engaging in character assassination and poisoning the well. Putin fanboys naturally took to this propaganda.

Here for the report http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/co...nal-evaluation-presented-by-jean-marc-ayrault

Obviously Russia considers it as false.

RT says people showing the Russian government is lying are wrong. Irony meter overload. :D

aaaaaaaand there it is, let's conveniently ignore the fact that those two RT articles contain the exact same information you can find on MANY mainstream sources, the mere fact that it also appears on RT must make it invalid ... :erm:

Im sure you will be able to show us how. You keep parroting that propaganda though, the Kremlin will be proud.
Go find the detail in the Ukraine Crisis thread where it has been debated to death, no need to repeat the exercise here surely.

Short summary: bellingcat's so called "evidence" linking Russia to MH17 relies entirely on old satellite pics of a rebel base with BUK launchers in it, then not there, then back again. Because, you know, having and moving a launcher is irrefutable proof of what you did with it ...

Narrow bandwidth indeed!

Nah you made the claim, you provide it.

I distinctly recall us both discussing it in the Ukraine thread, you can pretend we didn't if you like, I don't care enough to go digging through an old thread just so you can ignore the evidence (or lack thereof as it were) ad infinitum, yet again.
