The top tablet PCs to look forward to

In which of these tablet PCs are you most interested?

For me it is a choice between the PlayBook and Xoom. As an existing BlackBerry BIS/BES user the PlayBook will probably win the day, but the Xoom is a def winner. Just not sure about the quality of Motorola's support in SA.

motorola mobile devision + support + SA = error

I'll need a jean with bigger pockets for these gadgets.
 
I've been told that Motorola is planning a major drive to recapture lost ground in the SA market. Hope it's true.
 
The Xoom looks nice, and Android Honeycomb is really juicy! But with a price tag of $899 or somewhere around there I'll give it a miss.
Been following the developments of the Playbook closely. Has to be the tablet I'm getting.
 
Playbook, Touchpad or Xoom depending on what I need when they become available. The Samsung has that irritating proprietary connector of theirs and I'm getting dangerously close to being the Samsung-equivalent of an Apple fanboi :P
 
Now what to do with 32GB of ROM (Read-only Memory)... personally I would have liked 32GB flash or something similar.

I think that's a typo. The Flyer has 32GB internal storage which Wikipedia says is Flash and I'd guess is correct.
 
@Hawkies. I'm not sure which proprietary connector you are referring to. But my Galaxy S has a micro USB connector. I recently upgraded it to Android Froyo and it is brilliant. I'll be looking forward to laying my hands on the Tab 10.
 
I really hope more companies make use of the functional but still practical 7" size - I don't want to walk around with a laptop that has no keyboard

So far it looks like I'm going for a HTC Flyer(unless someone announces another 7" *Android* tab with dual core) and slapping on Honeycomb

Edit: Got nothing against the Playbook, just BlackBerry :D

Check here for some of the pics. On the bottom it has a proprietary connector similar to the one on the original Galaxy Tab. If they used microUSB then I'd have no issues as that is now the standard connector for most mobile devices.
 
The Xoom looks great but for the price it might be wise to wait a while as the tegra2 device will become more readily available.

Have purchased the Notion Ink Adam (www.notionink.com) and the device works well. They had some hickups with the ordering process and delivery dates which were delayed a few times. With their new updates it works quite well however waiting the Honeycomb update which would then make it awesome.

The xoom has stock Android 3.0 so you can expect the same experience on other Tegra based devices as Nvidia has been working very closely with Motorola and now with other manufacuturers to accomadate Honeycomb on the tegra2 processor.

I have another 9.7" Android 2.2 wifi only device (www.thetabletpc.co.za) which is excellent for home use especially for reading. Device is quite wuick and has 512MB RAM so decent for the price.

The Playbook looks good as well and from the videos on YouTube it looks quite decent.

I am not a fan of the smaller devices like the 7 inch unless it is just for reading eBooks.

Android market is growing and lots of good apps to look forward to. I think the apps will get better and more app makers will develope for iOS and Android concurrently rather than a delay for the Android app as was hte case in the past.

Wonder if people would consider the cheaper chinese based devices with Honeycomb. I am sure not everyone can afford the Xoom (Me included)

Oh OK. I see what you mean. It looks like the price - rather than the connector - may sway me away from the Tab 10. :(
