The Verge

dude i dont care if you dont like my tats - im happy with them thats what counts :)

I had a chuckle at that game you guys showed a few days back. You're doing exactly what the little chopper did in that game.

"Feeding the troll." :D

Hey Unexpected Girl,

My 5c worth:

I've ended up watching Verge a few times now after you came and said hi on mygaming. The sms-line is not a bad idea in itself, unfortunately it's tainted by Mxit kiddies and their atrocious grammar - it is rather off putting. If they can be screened somehow to get rid of fanboys and mxit-speak it would make for much more appealing.

Having had my fair share of public speaking, I take my hat off to you for doing so in live shows each time - not an easy task while still entertaining millions of prospective viewers. However, I do feel a sense of staggering where your presentations aren't continuous enough.

This is no fault of your own - as you're spontaneously replying to sms comments etc, so you can't prepare any material for that. I do think the only way to effectively remedy this is to allow for a 2nd presenter on your show - allowing you to discuss/debate different game/sms topics. It's also not something new, as you'll notice most radio stations have backup presenters for their DJ's - therefore they no longer talk directly to the audience like a nazi propaganda track, but rather discuss issues with someone else in studio. Ergo, giving it a sense of conversation. In your case you can only really give commentary and hope the viewers respond to it. Use it/Don't use it.

I'm quite sure your show has a definite and successful target market though and even though it's not the show for me, it does not mean I think it's bad. You certainly do have a sense of quirkiness to your demeanor on camera, which I'm sure will keep quite a few viewers attracted.

Lastly - whether people love it or say it sucks - well done for having the balls to start something like this in SA instead of jumping on the SA-never-does-anything-and-if-it-does-then-it-will-probably-suck bandwagon.

Wow, some actually valid feedback on this thread, i do agree fully with the mxit slang, atrocious. Thanks Voicy!

It was interesting seeing other people in studio with Unexpected_Girl on the show last night.

Unexpected_Girl, you should consider interviewing Tinman from mygaming.co.za sometime about his site that turns 1 next year Feb or some other up and coming gaming site hosts. Especially with all the compo's they've had to benefit the online gaming community.

All this talk about not liking pippa's tats is nonsense, I think it's great that some one that's "alternative" is being put on tv as a host of a popular show.

Oh and I think the Verge is a great show, for people like me who don't have a large internet cap watching reviews online isn't alway's an option so it's a good way to see what's going on. The only suggestion I would have is to make the sms bar a little smaller, but that's about it

Agree. And the sms' should scroll from left to right and not up to down.
I dig the show. Pippa is a hottie but the vrou don't like me watching it because I drool too much:D
