Hi folks

So I initially placed an order with Webafrica for 1gbps fibre line with Mitsol being the provider. For 3 weeks I was charged for the service when it never worked. Webafrica blamed Mitsol and Mitsol blamed them. Eventually, I got lucky and got through to someone from Webafrica who actually knew what they were doing and resolved the issue on their side.

But now I am stuck with a service that never reaches more than 300mbps even though I am paying for 1gbps. As usual, they have passed it onto Mitsol. Mitsol in this case claim that there is a "CPU bottleneck" and that a server is required with supernatual processing power to achieve 1gbps.

Furthermore, Webafrica's website states that port forwarding is allowed and no one should experience any issues. I have tried to port forward for my CCTV setup at home, yet the ports remain blocked. The IP address that reflects my router does not match the IP address on a public port scan. They refuse to assist me in this regard, stating that I should contact Dial a nerd - which is in contrast to what their website claims.

I have tried cancelling with them, but they keep threatening to claim back their fibre installation fee. However, the fault is not on my part since I have been paying for a service has not worked as advertised from day 1. My final option is to gather all whatsapp conversations and emails (to which I received no response) and block the debit order of my account. I'd be happy to meet them in court.

All I can say is good luck, it's ab absolute pain trying to deal with them! I eventually managed to cancel my line and move to a different ISP and it's the best move I've made.

Sorry to hear about this. Can't add much to help you but I advise you to move away from them soonest.
