the weirdest problem ever,seriaaas

My laptop refuses to install XP, it just turns off as soon as the installation is about to start. Vista installs fine but not XP :confused::confused:

If all else fails, stuff the instruction manual. Install Linux.

well guys after a long and hard battle i finally fixed it and installed xp pro with service pack 3.
the problem was the way the hard drive was formatted.
some how i got it right by formatting 5 times.
it seems that this way with partition magic allowed me to install xp.
Well both is fixed now and thanks for the advice.

i had a PC last week - got stuck on 36% in the xp pro installation procedure it kept resetting the pc. also tried 3 original cds and checked memory with memtest...didn't work until - solution - faulty powersupply.

dunno how you gonna bypass that one on a lappy

You give it to some person selling goods next to the road and then claim insurance. Other option is taking it to the manufacturer for repair

I think i should have listened to that other member when he said use the formating tool from linux. This would have cut my man hours to 5..lol.
Well i called the customer and he is super happy that his 2 laptops are updated and ready for internet and business.
Now to find my next challenge...anyone got one for me
