I've recently been keeping a close eye on the Polish-developed RPG, The Witcher - it looks as though it's bound to be fantastic when it gets released - Take2 has it set for the 21st of October.

The Witcher is said to be a mature, morally-ambiguous, story-driven RPG that pits you as the protagonist, Geralt of Rivia - a long silver-haired assassin with a vendetta, and a thing for swords. Character development is free-range in the sense that you develop as you see fit and not strictly as a warrior, mage, etc.

The developers claim that you will be faced with difficult decisions and choices which, like most RPGs, would affect the outcome. A full Q&A with the chief designer, Michal Madej can be found here detailing all the intricate details of the game without giving away any spoilers.

I fell in love with the third official trailer on GameSpot.

I'm an RPG fanatic and have incredibly high hopes for this game, especially since it sounds so beautiful, intricate and in-depth. I thought it'd be a shame to not share it with you all.

More information about this - hopefully - fantastic game can be found at its website - www.thewitcher.com :)

Makes at least 2 of us. I have already read the first book (Last Wish) that has recently been released in English.

Definitely on my 'to-buy' list too. I've also been following this game for a while. Trailers and previews look great and if they can achieve all they claim to then this game is going to be brilliant. Something different from the traditional RPG. I'm really looking forward to it.

My Christmas shopping list just keeps on expanding with games I just have to have. :)
Just one more can't be that bad can it?

I like the fact that you only see the results of your actions later on in the game and not immediately after you did or said something. Makes you think about your actions before you just do it.

Yeah - it looks fantastic :D I'd like to get my hands on the book as well... Would have to look into that. As a side note, I heard there's also a collector's edition, but not sure if it'll come to SA.

Aaaaargh! I can't wait!!!! *bounces around happily* :D :D :D

Collections edition - It is - I just got my copy....I need to go home now and play....I mean I'm feeling sick and need to go home! :)
