The world is ending.

Question, I see Vodacom is advertising fibre packages here, but it's Vumatel's network, can I use Afrihost for instance to supply me the service?

Lots of smaller places suddenly getting Fibre. Even here on the KZN South Coast, which is basically a retirement village, lots of Fibre builds around.

Yes indeed. Even North Coast got a handful of providers. Empangeni has Openserve, FrogFoot and Vodacom. Richards Bay has Frogfoot, Vodacom and Vumatel. Mtunzini has Vumatel.

Looks like the coastal towns are getting quite a selection of operators scrambling for market share.

Yeap. We've got both Openserve (aerial) and Linteg (trenching) doing our neighbourhood (Freeland Park, Scottburgh) at the moment.

No.. still has to be reported..
Edit: Unless the mods have some sort of alert setup to tell them someone typed RAS but, I doubt it..

Yes you can. Thank you for opting to go with us. Let me know if you need any help with anything I'm always around ;)
Yesterday like a million people and 50 trucks and a trencher etc showed up outside the street, they dug the trench yesterday on the other side of the street, apparently they cross cut it over to your house when they do an install if you're on the opposite side of the trench, question, how do they actually run the cable into a free standing house?

The Afrihost debit went off for the order so I assume the installation is probably around the corner!

Very excite, the ADSL latency we had was pretty schizophrenic, much like RAS posters. :p

Still can't get over the fact that this place got fibre, pretty wild, how much does the cable cost per KM? I can't imagine it's a cheap affair, though long term the savings vs stolen copper probably more than makes up for it.

Morning, Getting fibre is always exciting! Who is the Fibre network provider the fact that you got charged for installation means it's Frogfoot or Vumatel?

When it comes to trenching they give you 30 meters included if it exceeds that they will quote you on the extra meters. With Aerial fibre this restriction usually don't apply as they string the fibre from the poll to the property.

Yeah it's Vumatel, so I assume being debited it means they're processing the order, right? 30m is plenty, thanks!
