Hello everybody, I will be doing a thermal paste replacement on my GTX 460, due to the temps being quite high (Max 82 C).

Will the GPU need special thermal compound or is Arctic Silver 6/7 (dont know which is the latest or best) be OK?

I would think that Arctic Silver would do the job. One of the best thermal pastes for sure! Quite a few guys on Toms Hardware forums have used AS5 and report it working very well.

And which one should I buy, AS5 or the latest one? I think its 6 or 7....sorry I cant look for my self....Seacom is down and int. browsing is non existent. :(

The differences in temperatures between different pastes is really not that much, so I wouldnt worry unless you want to get the absolute lowest temps possible.

AS5 is still top 5 last time I checked, so you can't go wrong (unless you use too much of it)

Thanks for the help guys,

Does Matrix Warehouse stock AS5? A few years ago they only had some cheap coolermaster paste.

Or what other walk in store will have AS5? Im in the JHB South area.

Looks like I have only a choice of these Which should it get?

Or if some one could mail me a tube, that would be great.

Duno, never done a GPU but it can't be that much different from a CPU. Same principles apply I would say.
