Watch the trailer earlier and it looks a bit kuk. Bit early to judge but I have a bad feeling about this one, I love the thief games.

Everyone has a bad feeling about this game. They're absolutely butchering it. They keep harping on about how they're trying to stay true to the original Thief games, but they've ripped out or changed everything that made the original games so good.
This is a trainwreck waiting to happen. Not even the gaming press hides the fact that they think this is turning out to be a complete travesty nowadays. It might turn out to be an alright game, but it's going to be a fukking terrible Thief game.

I really doubt we will be wrong, sadly enough. Everything I've read points to this going against everything that made Thief good. QTEs, third-person view for climbing walls, context-sensitive takedowns, only being able to jump in pre-determined areas, objective markers, Focus mode, etc. It's all so absolutely against what the Thief series stood for, which was a stealth game with zero hand holding involved.
I really loved Thief growing up. I regard it as one of the best game franchises I've played. Even Deadly Shadows was good, despite its shortcomings. The new Thief just fills me with sadness.

I really love the Thief series too, you taffers. I'm cautiously optimistic about this release. Even if it's been numbed down to cater for a wider audience, I think that the thief community themselves will tweak the game into something that works for them! I mean look at what happened to TDS, the community released some really cool patches that improved the texture quality, changed the look-and-feel to match that of Thief 2 more closely, even tweaked the AI to be more of a challenge.
I'd be happy with the game if they manage to achieve the same atmosphere as T1/T2, make it possible to 'ghost' through the entire game and have challenging stages to play.
This avid Thief fan, just cant wait!

That's another thing, they removed the word 'taffer,' those taffers.
Started playing this today and yes the fscking console gamers won! Got past the first stage on 'thief' difficulty level and it's piss easy. The game lacks the atmosphere & character of the previous games, it feels a bit clinical, story not that great. Gonna restart playing it on custom difficulty level as I still wanna take out people.
You can see this game was developed with console users in mind, sad state of affairs.
