Things that irritate you - Part 2

When your boss sends you work, you start preparing it.
He comes to your desk and tells you that you don't have to do it.
You delete the work you've just done.
10 seconds later (not exaggerated) he turns around and tells you that you should do it.

Open plan office. It's killing my productivity, my enthusiasm and spirit.

Arsenic may be necessary addition for his mourning coffee.

Sounds like work is in charge of y'all and not the other way round. Get a grip on things folks, lay down the law.

I do, but if I feel over worked I take the day off, or tell them I will be working from home. If the boss wants something I'll do it when I get round to it. Basically I've come to realise that it's just a job and to actually enjoy it at times you should take some control of things.

Looking at a table of derivatives.
Other person: Why is that number there like so?
Me: *Launching into massive explanation how that inverted currency pair still makes sense in the business' hedging strategy.
Other person: What's a derivative?

When you have to drop your urgent/deadline work to do the work of an absent employee (and now you have to figure out how their schit works).

I feel for you, but

I was absent in this week for the first time this year, one day. And a few people had a series of hissy fits because they had to figure out how to do my stuff that okes were requesting (keep in mind these people love to preach redundancy and a written process). Pissed me off proper, I suppose my comment of next time I'll come and die at work was a bit too much.

Didn’t manage to get to the office once before 10 this week, don’t manage to sleep less than 10h, don’t manage to focus (hence why I scratched my car this morning), not hungry, not thirsty.

All the symptoms of the beginning of a depression (which is quite a common symptom after the intervention I had).

My wife suffers from ME/CFS. Some days she can't get out of bed, even when she sleep she stays tired, can't remember stuff. Fortunately her boss has been very kind to her so far.

I'll give it another week, and otherwise will ask my hematologist what he recommends as he must have seen this quite a few times.

People and their bright lights during the morning commute. Nothing beats sitting in heavy traffic and having some retard blinding you with his high beams.
