Things that irritate you - Part 4

Software that lets you drag toolbars around. Which you never touch until it happens accidently and now that toolbar is gone. (It's more the mission of getting it back to normal again).

My favourite 'hidden toolbar' is the ribbon in ALL MS Office desktop apps - the number of users I have seen, when training them, who have NO ribbon displayed, is scary - and they usually have NO COOKING CLUE how to make it appear again - they DOUBLE-CLICK EVERYTHING and when you D/C any ribbon tab, it auto-hides the ribbon... (you can either D/C any ribbon tab again to make it re-appear & lock again - or use the CTRL+F1 keyboard shortcut as well)...

This prehistoric nonsense of needing to stand around waiting for someone to come & weigh your fruit & veg. Sometimes your can DIY but this scale needs a 76 digit code half the time.
It is flippen annoying. Fortunately some shops are using "AI" now. You just put it on the scale. Confirm the item is correct and bobs your uncle.

One of our newer CCTv camera's went offline during the storm early this morning and never came back online. I thought maybe a dead PoE port but switching ports never worked so I started to take the camera off the wall. And that is when the water came out, a lot of it  The weather proof box the camera was mounted on was clearly not waterproof and the female RJ45 connection looks toast with broken/missing pins. I have messaged the installer to see what they say, I could probably cut the female connector off and get a suitable one but I want to give the installer a chance as they have just installed 3 more camera's and an NVR and need to come set it all up anyway.

No go, the female RJ45 connector on the camera is FUBAR, broken pins from what I can see so the camera is no longer working. Waiting for the installer's response...

Our local Spar had a automated scale for a year or two, but it was clear the technology is not actually completely ready for SA public. A good number of people would just be baffled by the options it gave on screen, or it would get the options all wrong for very basic things.

Doesn't help of course that shops will have multiple stock codes for what we as the public see as the "same" thing.

Hoping Takealot does not give me kak on this.
I've returned two DOA 65" TV's that arrived cracked in both instances back when they used FNF couriers.

Never had any trouble, so I am sure it won't be a problem for you either.

Been having to drive a lot more then normal recently and at all times of the day, when i would otherwise be at work or at home.

The amount of people driving ridiculous slow is crazy. Almost had a few bumper bashings because these people are driving so out of kilter with the rest of the flow of traffic. The culprits are most often cars which are unroadworthy and just cannot go past 60km/h or people on their phones, with no idea whats happening around them. In other cases guys who just dont care.
